Hello friends, have a lovely Sunday. I love Sundays because they are special days for creating and drawing, and exactly one week ago I shared with you in this community my painting made in Paint—a drawing I adored for its simplicity and its celebration of the everyday. It was just a simple toast alongside some flowers, but it held deep meaning. Today, one week later, I return to you with another drawing and my greatest wish: that you enjoy both the final result and the creative process behind the piece.
Hola amigos, tengan un lindo domingo. Me gustan los domingos porque son días especiales para crear y dibujar, y hace exactamente una semana compartía con ustedes en esta comunidad mi dibujo hecho en Paint—un dibujo que amé por su sencillez y su celebración a las cosas comunes del día a día. Era una simple tostada junto a unas flores, pero encerraba mucho significado. Hoy, una semana después, regreso a ustedes con otro dibujo y mis mayores deseos de que disfruten tanto el resultado final como el proceso creativo detrás de la obra.
This time I’ll be sharing a landscape of snowy mountains at dawn, also created in Paint, along with a step-by-step look into the process. It’s a drawing born purely from imagination and without references, which made the creative journey a bit chaotic. What I did have clear from the very beginning was that I wanted to depict a sunrise, with the first yellow rays of the sun peeking through. Behind the mountains and with a foreground of wildflowers, I gradually added details and shapes, step by step.
En esta ocasión les compartiré un paisaje de unas montañas nevadas al amanecer, también fue creado en Paint y les compartiré el proceso paso a paso. Fue un dibujo creado desde la imaginación y sin referencias, por lo que el proceso creativo puede ser un poco caótico. Lo que sí tenía muy claro desde el principio es que dibujaría un amanecer con los primeros rayos amarillos del Sol. Detrás de montañas y con un primer plano de unas flores silvestres, así que poco a poco fui agregando detalles y formas.

Without a doubt, Paint isn’t the ideal program for drawing landscapes—but what is life without a little challenge? I really enjoyed diving into this project. I especially loved drawing elements like the water, the trees, and the clouds. And even though I know the light and shadow effects could’ve been executed better, I believe I’m heading in the right direction, and the result turned out better than I expected. I’m happy I finished the drawing instead of leaving it halfway through—that alone is a big step and a victory.
Sin dudas Paint no es el mejor programa para dibujar paisajes, pero ¿qué es la vida sin un poco de reto? Me gustó mucho ponerme manos a la obra con esto. Me gustó mucho dibujar partes como el agua, los árboles y las nubes, y aunque sé que el efecto de luces y sombras pudo estar mejor logrado, creo que voy en el camino correcto, y el resultado es mejor de lo que esperaba. Me alegra haber terminado el dibujo y no abandonarlo a medias; ya eso es un gran paso y una victoria.
The tools I used the most for my drawing were the natural pencil in Paint, which is one of my favorite tools for sketching, the watercolor brush—which I was using for the first time—and the airbrush, which I honestly don’t like much. I think I could have achieved better light and shadow effects using a different method. Lastly, I used Photoshop to enhance the lighting and shadows, and added a touch of sparkle to the sun.
Las herramientas que más usé para mi dibujo fueron el lápiz natural de Paint, que es de mis herramientas favoritas para dibujar, el pincel de acuarelas, que era la primera vez que lo usaba para dibujar, y el aerógrafo, que la verdad no me gusta mucho y creo que de otra forma hubiese resuelto luces y sombras con mayor detalle. Por último, utilicé Photoshop para realzar las luces y las sombras, y un poco de destellos en el Sol.
Finally, I’ll leave you with the full creative process so you can appreciate it more deeply. Drawing in Paint is a challenge—a very rewarding one—and I encourage all creatives to give it a try, to dedicate some time to learning or experimenting. The tools in Paint aren’t the best, but they’re enough, and the results can be surprising.
