"Tomato Stew"

My grandmother used to make
chicken stewed in tomato sauce,
and it was delicious every time I ate it.
It had a mellow flavor and
a slightly gentle tomato color.
The other day, I asked the caregiver who comes once a week
to make the same dish,
but the taste was slightly different.
That mellow tomato stew
was something only my grandmother could make.

むかし祖母が作ってくれた
鶏肉のトマト煮込みは
何回食べても美味しかった
まろやかな味わいと
少し優しいトマトの色
先日 週に1回来てくれる
ヘルパーさんに同じメニューを
作ってもらったけど
やはり少し味が違った
あのまろやかなトマト煮込みは
祖母にしか作れないものだった
