Description from Strava:
I am without a car this weekend, but did not want to just stay at home. This morning I was timekeeping at parkrun. It was a nice morning for it and I managed to log all the times without slipping up.
I had been wanting to see Deadpool & Wolverine. It was on at the Letchworth Broadway, so I got the bike out to get there. I have been wanting to use the bike more and decided it was time for a new helmet as mine is worn out.
I went to Trisports who do some fancy bikes. They will not be the cheapest for accessories, but I would rather buy from a local business. The guy who served me knew his stuff and did not pressure to me to go for one of the more expensive models. I also bought some new handlebar grips as mine have had it.
Then it was a short ride to the cinema. As I use their loyalty scheme I got a cheap ticket, but they need to get their site working better as it would not let me download it or get an email. I took a screenshot of the details that was enough.
The film is great fun if you do not mind lots of violence and coarse humour. There are so many in-jokes and references in there and I will have missed some. You may know that Wolverine died in Logan, but it is all about the 'multiverse' with Marvel these days, so anyone can come back. It includes the Time Variance Authority who featured in Loki and a few characters from old Marvel movies come back, with the original actors. If you like the other Deadpool movies then you will enjoy this one.
The ride home was fine and had more downhill than on the way there. A lot of it was off-road on cycle paths. On the way there I saw my friend Jon who was on his way back from a much longer ride. He does triathlons, so is always training.
I plan to run in the morning and will probably be in the pool again, so I will cover all the triathlon disciplines this weekend. Our pool will be cleaner than the Seine.
Ride free!
