It's the end of the challenge and today felt like some sort of holiday. I am glad this holiday was on a Saturday because it gave me a reason to do general cleaning and laundry. At the same time, I had enough rest. I stepped out in the evening to allow the sunset to touch me a bit. I returned home to lie down and feel a rush of gratitude for how everything turned out.
Apart from the feeling of observing a holiday, there is this feeling of a new beginning forming in my heart. I feel as though something new is about to happen and that I have been preparing all along for its occurrence. I feel prepared, overly prepared if I must add. I have no idea what it is going to be but I am optimistic it will turn out for the best.
My friend @b0s had already asked that I stick to the exercise routine to maintain my new body. And I told him it was part of the plan. Of course, I mentioned right before the end of the challenge that I have fallen in love with the fitness routine and I ain't planning to stop.
Someone I hadn't seen for 100 days or so, saw me recently and exclaimed that I had added weight. I smiled because I wasn't adding weight, I was only using the challenge to work my muscles. And what I noticed is that if I stopped, my body returns to its original form and I have no idea why. This is one of the reasons I do not want to stop.
It's worthy of note that this happened when I was concentrating on the butt exercise alone. The moment I changed to the full-body exercise, I noticed, that I still maintained my original shape. I haven't tried stopping the exercise for one week like we did the last time though. So, I can't tell if the whole body exercise helps maintain my figure with or without the routine.
It's okay though. Maybe, as I progress, I'll try a one-week-no exercise, and see. There is one other exercise that has been added to the routine, it's brisk walking. This one I can only do with my new friend, who isn't available at the moment. Once he returns, I'll convince him to let us have a routine.
Again, he knows how to swim and I don't. Apart from the fun, this is part of another exercise routine. If I am not mistaken it's supposed to help with the abs. For someone who desires a permanent flat tummy, I would jump at the offer to learn to swim. I'll talk about this one with him as well.
All in all, "health is wealth", this has been my favorite quote and it hasn't changed. Everyone should be aware that they wouldn't be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor if their health isn't a priority. And exercising is one of the ways to improve one's health. But then @saun is right about exercising with moderation
Analysis shows that even moderate exercise throughout the day has several healthful benefits. If you can’t appear to induce impelled to exercise daily, you must notice a less intense, however physical, activity you get pleasure from many times per week. Effect of exercise on your body temperature will shock you!
I have been here and I remember how I couldn't lift my body for a few days because I was super excited about the app. And I ended up overdoing it, it was too intense for my body who was just starting on the usage of that app.
Whatever routine you choose, be careful about being intense at the beginning. Give yourself time to get accustomed to the workout and you'll have your body thank you for it. Happy weekend.
