Hello hivers and creatives, I am very excited to tell you about my first time guiding a circle of women, something different. As you know, some time ago I got certified as a holistic priestess and art therapist. The coolest thing is that I can put everything together, depending on the event or celebration to which I am summoned.
This time, it was a holistic birthday, where the birthday girl wanted to paint cups, previously I had been able to guide ceremonies or workshops, but putting them together was my first time. The truth is that I left very grateful for the experience and all of them too, because it is another way to have fun, to teach the brain that it can relax differently and above all, that there is a support network there to sustain you.
Early that day, together with my cousin, I gathered the materials: glass, special paint for slabs, brushes. I also did some reading to organize the itinerary of the activity. I had planned everything for 11 women, but I had the surprise of 2 girls. It is as if the children always accompany me, to remind me that my inner child also matters.
When we arrived at the place, we began to decorate everything, the guest brought some flowers and I put them in the center of the tablecloths, I also took my Frida Kahlo doll, to connect with the inner artist, the materials were also in the center, and the audience around them, we worked on the floor, for a better comfort.
Before starting, we set the mood with celebratory music, and celebration according to the birthday girl's tastes, then she gave a few words of welcome and thanks for accompanying her, so it was my turn to start the activity activating the circle of women from the heart with the principles of holism: connecting body, mind and spirit.
Once everyone was in tune, it was time to activate the inner artist with the principle of art therapy: to create without judgment. It is always important to highlight the objective of the meeting, in this case to celebrate and enjoy painting, to enjoy the experience. The truth is that I had another more spicy dynamic, but since the girls were there, I had to modify it.
We did a warm up of body, mind, and spirit, so each one gave a few words to the guest of honor and connected with her image to paint on the cup. I explained the technique, the strokes, the colors and how they could mix them to achieve another one, always with references of the day to day and the creative adventures that we constantly do.
The painting day lasted about an hour, everyone was happy, except one of the girls who was uncomfortable with her creation, so I approached her and we did it again, at her request. It was then time to share the food they brought to share and talk a little about the experience. They were all very happy and so was I. Tell me, have you ever been to a holistic ceremony?
