Turen's sunflowers
El proceso
La siembra se realiza entre octubre y noviembre, luego de unos 50 días florecen durante un mes aproximadamente, por eso es importante programar la visita a estos campos para los primeros días del año, nosotros fuimos el 13 de enero pues para la semana siguiente estaba previsto que comenzaran a marchitarse y luego se iniciara la extracción de las semillas para obtener el aceite comestible que es el principal objetivo de los productores.
The process
Planting is done between October and November, after about 50 days they bloom for about a month, so it is important to schedule a visit to these fields for the first days of the year, we went on January 13 because for the following week it was expected to begin to wither and then begin the extraction of the seeds to obtain edible oil which is the main objective of the producers.

Los campos están a la orilla de la carretera, así que para verlos y entrar a tomar fotos no hay que pagar nada, sin embargo por el auge turístico hay paquetes que incluyen visita guiada, hospedaje en hoteles cercanos (principalmente para quienes quien desean quedarse a ver el atardecer en los campos), sobrevolar la zona en un ultraliviano, entre otras actividades y los precios pueden varias entre $ 50 y $100 , nosotras solo estábamos a dos horas en carretera por eso hicimos el pase low cost y no gastamos nada.
How much does it cost?
The fields are on the side of the road, so to see them and take pictures you do not have to pay anything, however due to the tourist boom there are packages that include guided tours, lodging in nearby hotels (mainly for those who want to stay and watch the sunset in the fields), flying over the area in an ultralight, among other activities and prices can vary between $ 50 and $ 100, we were only two hours away by road so we did the low cost pass and did not spend anything.

La temperatura en Turén es de 38 grados centígrados aproximadamente, llegamos a las 4:30 pm y el sol era muy intenso, tanto que no podíamos ver la pantalla del celular y la mayoría de las fotos fueron tomadas a “ciegas”, incluso el teléfono emitió un mensaje que decía “el Iphone necesita enfriarse para poder usarlo”.
Curious fact
The temperature in Turén is approximately 38 degrees Celsius, we arrived at 4:30 pm and the sun was very intense, so much so that we could not see the cell phone screen and most of the pictures were taken "blind", even the phone emitted a message that said "the Iphone needs to cool down to be able to use it".
Lo que me enamoró
Una de las escenas que más disfrute fue ver a Carlota, mi hija, corriendo entre las flores, buscando la más pequeña para poder abrazarla y cómo se acercaba a ellas para olerlas, que lindo es tener la posibilidad de regalarle a nuestros hijos estos encuentros con la naturaleza, que entienden el amor y cuidado que hay que darle a las plantas. Incluso al final se despidió de ellos y les decía “Bye, bye girasoles”. Gracias Venezuela por tus tierras y tus regalos naturales.
What made me fall in love
One of the scenes I enjoyed the most was seeing Carlota, my daughter, running among the flowers, looking for the smallest one to hug her and how she approached them to smell them, how nice it is to have the possibility to give our children these encounters with nature, that they understand the love and care that must be given to the plants. Even at the end he said goodbye to them and said "Bye, bye sunflowers". Thank you Venezuela for your lands and your natural gifts.
