Tomorrow marks seven years that have elapsed since I listened to @jacobtothe and signed up for an account on this social media blockchain blogging site thing.
SEVEN YEARS!
Time really does fly when you are having fun, and yes, it has been fun!
So many big things have happened in my life during that time, but one of the biggest and most adored accomplishments for me is that I have continued to show up here. This place, with all its drama, all its innovation, all its extra-ness, is just a beyond marvelous example of what we humans can do.
Every corner of Hive is full of greatness. Sure, we've had our trials over the years, but that is what makes the journey fun right?
I mean, we have a rally car! We have super neat sidechain stuff like INLEO, as someone who has been here from the first year, I cannot express enough gratitude for things like PEAKD, Hivekeychain, and Ecency, etc.
We have amazingly innovative dev peeps who are constantly innovating, storytellers like one of my favs @meesterboom who keep me perennially amused with his blog post bangers, artists, musicians, writers, and foodies.
There's the marketing enthusiasts and homesteading gurus, travelers and photographers, and everyone in between. Every time I pop on here to whip up a post, I also take some time to scroll through my favorites feed to upvote and engage, and I am never disappointed in what scrolls through my screen. Hive truly is a paragon of humanity's can-do-it-ness.
I am so incredibly thankful to be a part of it all. The growth of the platform is reflected in my growth as a person. Well, at least I hope so, but it's only fitting that my Hive-iversary falls around Thanksgiving every year, for it truly is something that I am thankful for.
And now for a bit of what's upcoming blathering:
As many of you know, I have been getting my butt kicked for the past five weeks by my autoimmune disease. It's not been exactly pleasant and it's given me a lot of time to think. (It's funny how being bed-ridden fosters such a thing!). I am going to be making some pretty yuge life changes.
So, there is going to be a ton of posts on all that subject matter. Many, many fellow humans suffer from autoimmune disease and I am going to be writing about some of the techniques that have helped me cope and heal with my body trying to kill me. There will be posts about nutrition, mental health, and exercise galore!
Also, I am going to be returning to school! Many years ago I started on an educational journey to become a counselor, but paused that to raise my kiddos. Now that they are all grown up, it's time to get back in the saddle again and finish up things, as the need for mental health professionals is critical and all things mental health is kinda my jam.😊
And of course there will still be a ton of homesteading posts, because not being a homesteader is something that just isn't on my radar. This is the time of year for garden planning, salve-making, and baking!
Of course, most of my baking posts will be different from now on as I can't eat gluten or dairy, but you all know I love a challenge!
So, as we get ready to celebrate the holiday of blessings counting, I find that I am getting into the spirit already thanks to my yearly reminder that I belong to the best online community of folks ever assembled!
