Hi Hive Fam, once again it’s me, the golden child. Welcome to my second post. Today I share with you how I spent my Thursday at work. The day was sunny and as usual I went to buy my breakfast (Waakye). Waakye is a Ghanaian dish with the combination of rice and beans. Waakye is loved in Ghana here. Especially that particular waakye joint has a lot of customers since it is very delicious. You can tell from the picture, the queue at the waakye joint. I mostly buy it on my way to work.I love to eat it for breakfast, in this hard economy, it helps me skip lunch😁
I got to work and I ate it before the bank officially opened for customers that’s 8:30am.
Today was very hectic since it was a Friday and we don’t work on weekends hence customers are mostly choked in the banking hall.
At work, you barely have time for your phone, you are not supposed to use your phone during working hours until you’ve closed. Work officially closes at 4pm for customers. The rest of the time is now our time to balance the cash and lock in the vault. We don’t have a fixed time we close. Days a cashier doesn’t balance due to a wrong transaction or miscounting of money we all have to come together to check the cash and his or her day’s transactions against the vouchers and receipts to be sure it wasn’t over credited or underpaid to a customer or a wrong account number. We call that “call over” at the bank. There’s a monthly roster for that, each person has a partner.
Everyone was fine, we could now go to our various homes. I got home around 7:15pm. I took my shower and ate supper. Because of the stress from work, I slept off whilst watching a movie. The movie is entitled “Friends”. It’s my favorite sitcom. I never get tired of rewatching it. A series that can help you recover from depression. My kids are going to watch it too😘. I solely recommend it to you all.
