It's been more than a week since the grand final in which Argentina managed to win its third world cup, but if you think that we're calming down around here, I must tell you that you're wrong. The festivities lasted Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, where people took to the streets or gathered with family and friends to celebrate. It could even be said that the end of the year parties were a bit in the background and we ended up organizing them at the last minute, but of course, without forgetting the triumph that kept us happy all week ❤️.
Ya pasó más de una semana desde la gran final en la que Argentina logró ganar su tercera copa del mundo, pero si creen que por acá nos calmamos al respecto, debo decirles que están equivocados. Los festejos se extendieron domingo, lunes y martes, en donde la gente salió a las calles o se reunió con familiares y amigos para celebrar. Hasta podría decirse que las fiestas de fin de año quedaron un poco en segundo plano y terminamos de organizarlas a último minuto, pero claro, sin obviar el triunfo que nos mantuvo alegres toda la semana ❤️.
In my family, New Year's Eve parties always include a big barbecue feast, salads, and various mayonnaise-laden dishes. Something similar to this was repeated in the days that Argentina was winning the games, so we had come from celebrating quite often. When December 24th finally came, we were bound to have a big dinner again and we did 😅.
En mi familia, las fiestas de fin de año siempre incluyen un gran banquete de asado, ensaladas y diversos platos llenos de mayonesa. Algo parecido a esto se repitió en los días que Argentina fue ganando los partidos, por lo que ya veníamos de festejar bastante seguido. Cuando finalmente llegó el 24 de diciembre, obligatoriamente debíamos tener una gran cena otra vez y así fue 😅.
Something great that happened was that the TyC Sports channel was in charge of repeating the entire transmission of the Argentina-France final match. From what I could see on my social networks, many families (I would even say most of them) were looking at that. Some even suffered and got nervous about something that had already happened a week ago. The timing of this transmission was such that just at midnight, when we were supposed to make the traditional Christmas toast, it was the moment when Messi finally raised the glass. It was great toasting with that celebration in the background ❤️.
Algo genial que pasó fue que el canal TyC Sports se encargó de repetir toda la transmisión del partido de la final Argentina-Francia. Por lo que pude ver en mis redes sociales, muchas familias (hasta diría la mayoría de ellas), estábamos mirando eso. Incluso algunos sufrían y se ponían nerviosos por algo que ya había pasado una semana atrás. La sincronización de esta transmisión fue tal que justo a la medianoche, cuando debíamos hacer el tradicional brindis navideño, fue el momento en que finalmente Messi levantó la copa. Fue genial brindar con ese festejo de fondo ❤️.
It makes me very tender to see how Messi is loved in this country and all over the world. He is a great idol for adults and children, and without a doubt what happened to him at the football level brought joy to all of us. There are even those who said that this toast with Messi raising the glass at midnight would have to be repeated every year. Passionate who? 😅
Me da mucha ternura ver cómo en este país y en todo el mundo aman a Messi. Es un gran ídolo para grandes y chicos, y sin dudas lo que le pasó a nivel futbolístico nos trajo alegría a todos. Incluso hay quienes decían que esto de brindar con Messi levantando la copa a la medianoche tendría que repetirse todos los años. ¿Apasionados quienes? 😅

During the festivities on Tuesday, my sister was walking around the city in this costume. We had all gathered in the city center hoping to see the national team players go by on the bus, but due to the amount of people, this could not be and they only flew over the crowd in a helicopter. We didn't get to see Messi up close, but at least we had some time with his unauthorized doppelganger 😅.
Durante los festejos del martes, mi hermana se andaba paseando por la ciudad con este disfraz. Todos nos habíamos reunido en el centro de la ciudad con la esperanza de ver pasar el micro con los jugadores de la selección, pero debido a la cantidad de gente, esto no pudo ser y ellos solo sobrevolaron la multitud en helicóptero. No pudimos ver a Messi de cerca, pero al menos pasamos un rato con su doble no autorizado 😅.

We still have the New Year's celebration ahead of us and I don't know if they are going to replay the match but something tells me yes. Just today the Argentina National Team shirt with the third star on its logo went on sale and the pre-sale has already sold out, so surely the World Cup excitement will last for a while. We have 4 years to continue enjoying this victory: it will be until 2026 friends, when we will probably get excited again ❤️.
Aún nos queda por delante la celebración de Año Nuevo y no sé si van a volver a pasar la repetición del partido pero algo me dice que sí. Justamente hoy salió a la venta la camiseta de la Selección Argentina con la tercera estrella en su logo y ya se agotó la preventa, así que seguramente la emoción mundialista dure para rato. Tenemos 4 años para seguir disfrutando vivamente esta victoria: será hasta 2026 amigos, cuando probablemente nos volvamos a ilusionar de nuevo ❤️.
