Hello friends, how are you? As perhaps you could deduce from the title of this post, I am very happy because I finally took, with God's permission, the first step towards the realization of a great dream, and that is that I can now formally say that I am a published writer. I have been writing for many years, specifically since I was thirteen years old and since I was about 19 or 20 I started writing novels, since I prefer narrative, but it was not until recently that a publisher was attracted by one of my titles, El Reloj Maldito de Güigüe, a novel that not only highlights the values and idiosyncrasies that we have in my country, Venezuela, but also immerses the reader in an aura of mystery and even terror in some scenes. For me it was a great joy when I was told that my work had been approved, although for now only in digital format.
Hola ¿Cómo están amigos? Tal como quizá ustedes pudieran deducir debido al título de este post, yo estoy muy contenta ya que di finalmente y con la venia de Dios, el primer paso para la concreción de un gran sueño, y es que ya se puede decir formalmente que soy una escritora publicada. Hace muchos años que escribo, específicamente desde los trece años y desde más o menos los 19 o 20 comencé a escribir novelas, ya que me decanto por la narrativa, pero no fue sino hasta hace muy poco que una editorial se sintió atraída por uno de mis títulos, El Reloj Maldito de Güigüe, una novela que no solo resalta los valores e idiosincrasia que tenemos en mi país, Venezuela, sino que sumerge al lector en un aura de misterio y hasta terror en algunas escenas. Para mi fue una gran alegría cuando me dijeron que mi obra había sido aprobada, aunque por ahora solo en formato digital.
As soon as I was told that my manuscript had been approved, I started working on the design of the front and back covers, and I also reviewed the manuscript they gave me with the corrections to approve them, change some details or give them my approval.
Desde que me dijeron que mi manuscrito había sido aprobado empecé a trabajar en el diseño de la portada y contraportada, además también me dediqué a revisar el manuscrito que me daban con las correcciones para aprobarlas, cambiarle algún detalle o darles mi aprobación.
On the other hand, when I was finally given the date of the presentation, I was also looking for materials to make some bookmarks and other little things that I wanted to give as gifts to the guests on the day of the presentation and baptism of my book. It took me a lot of time and work but I did it with patience and love because the happiness and the feeling of gratitude that overwhelmed me was very great. I remember that on the last day I was still putting some finishing touches to the gifts, and I even had to deal with several power cuts, but I finally got it done. I decorated a paper bag with sunflower flowers (my favorite) and wrote the words “Welcome to the baptism of my first book” Inside I put a notebook and a pen (something important for those who want to take notes or immortalize an idea) and a bookmark (these have phrases from my book).
Por otra parte, cuando finalmente me dieron la fecha de la presentación, también me dediqué a la búsqueda de materiales para la elaboración de algunos marcalibros y otras cositas que yo quería entregar como regalo a los invitados el día de la presentación y bautizo de mi libro. Me llevó bastante tiempo y trabajo pero lo hice con paciencia y amor porque la felicidad y el sentimiento de agradecimiento que me embargaba era muy grande. Recuerdo que el último día yo aún estaba dando algunos retoques a los regalos, e incluso tuve que lidiar con varios cortes eléctricos, pero finalmente lo conseguí. Decoré una bolsa de papel con flores de girasol (Mis favoritas) y escribí las palabras "Bienvenidos al bautizo de mi primer libro" Adentro metí una libreta y un bolígrafo (algo importante para quien quiere tomar notas o inmortalizar una idea) y un marca libros (estos tienen frases de mi libro)
The long awaited day arrived so I headed to the city of San Felipe in the state of Yaracuy, in Venezuela (which was where the event would be). Of my family only my mom could accompany me to support me, since our car is not in condition to travel, but still my dad went to accompany us to the terminal to say goodbye, and my sister, although she was at work, was aware of all the details and asked me to keep her informed.
El día tan anhelado llegó así que me dirigí a la ciudad de San Felipe en el estado Yaracuy, en Venezuela (Qué era donde sería el evento) De mi familia solo mi mamá pudo acompañarme para apoyarme, ya que nuestro auto no está en condiciones para viajar, pero aún así mi papá fue a acompañarnos a la terminal para despedirnos, y mi hermana, aunque estaba en su trabajo, estaba pendiente de todos los detalles y me pedía que la mantuviera informada.
