Outings with friends and unexpected events [Eng/Esp]

Sometimes plans made with friends don't always go exactly as planned, whether it's the location, the time, or any unforeseen circumstances that may arise as the day progresses. The day before, we had planned to go to a park, which is honestly quite close to me, so I agreed, but as I mentioned at the beginning, unforeseen circumstances are always just around the corner, so, join me, dear friends of the community, on this curious outing.

When the day arrived, I got up early. I have a certain routine that I must follow every day, so in order to be ready at the appointed time, I got up early and did everything I had to do. The agreed time was 11 a.m., which, if you ask me, is a bit late to go to a park, especially if the plan was to spend a long time there (I mention this because the sun is very strong in the afternoon), but anyway, I said yes. Valentina (the girl I'm dating) came to my house so we could wait for the rest of our friends who were coming along.

A veces las salidas que se planean con amigos no siempre se van cumpliendo al pie de la letra, ya sea el lugar, el horario o cualquier imprevisto que pueda ir surgiendo según vaya avanzando el día y es que, el día anterior se había planeado ir a un parque, el cual honestamente me queda bastante cerca, por lo cual accedí, pero como vengo mencionando al principio, los imprevistos siempre están a la vuelta de la esquina, así que, acompáñenme queridos amigos de la comunidad en esta curiosa salida.

Una vez llegado el día, me levanté temprano. Tengo cierta rutina que debo cumplir todos los días, por lo que para estar listo a la hora estipulada me levanté temprano e hice todo lo que tenía pendiente. El horario acordado era a las 11 de la mañana, lo cual, si me lo preguntan, es una hora un poco tarde para ir a un parque y más si el plan era pasar largo rato (esto lo menciono porque el sol en la tarde es muy fuerte), pero bien, dije que sí. Valentina (la chica con la que estoy saliendo), llegó a mi casa para que esperáramos al resto de los amigos que iríamos.

When the time came, there was still no sign of these friends, so we waited and waited and waited and kept waiting, until finally at 1 o'clock these friends arrived at the meeting point and we had to go down to meet them. To be honest, at this point in the day I didn't really feel like going to the park, but I wanted to spend some time with them doing something different, so we went.

During the trip, we chatted, told a few jokes here and there, and shared some stories. To be honest, I'm quite shy, and they're closer friends with Valentina than with me, so I just listened and spoke when it was my turn. On the way to the park (about a 10- or 15-minute walk), we made a quick stop at a bakery, and it started to rain. We saw it coming—as we walked, the sky was getting darker—but since it wasn't just a few drops, we decided to keep walking.

En el proceso estuvimos hablando, algunos chistes por aquí, algunos cuentos por allá. La verdad es que soy bastante tímido y ellos son más amigos de Valentina que míos, por lo cual yo solo escuchaba y hablaba cuando me correspondía. En el camino para llegar al parque (serían unos 10 o 15 minutos de distancia caminando) hicimos una pequeña parada en una panadería y empezó a llover. Esto lo veíamos venir, mientras caminábamos el cielo se estaba oscureciendo, pero como no eran pocas gotas, decidimos seguir caminando.

We arrived at the park quickly, but we got a surprise that was not at all unexpected. When we arrived, we were denied entry because of the rain. It was a little dangerous to be in the park in the rain because the river could rise, and, well, it wasn't advisable. Obviously, we had no choice but to leave, but we didn't go very far. As it was about to start raining, we took shelter in a small space next to an inn to wait for the rain to stop. Nearby was the river I mentioned earlier, which normally has no water, but as it had been raining for days, it was quite full.

While we were there, we decided to eat, and just then a little kitten arrived, so we started feeding it so that it could be part of the group and enjoy itself too. After about half an hour, it stopped raining, but we stayed there anyway. We talked and played with a ball that Daniel had brought. We explored the surrounding area a bit, since we were near the river, we looked at different places. Several people who also had the idea of going to the park ended up doing the same thing we did when they were also prohibited from entering because of the rain.

Llegamos rápido al parque, pero nos llevamos una sorpresa que no fue para nada inesperada. Al llegar, nos prohibieron la entrada por la lluvia. Era un poco peligroso estar en el parque con lluvia porque el río podía crecer y, bueno, no era recomendable. Evidentemente, no nos quedó de otra que irnos, pero no nos fuimos tan lejos, como iba a empezar a llover nos metimos en un pequeño espacio que tenía una posada para esperar que terminara la lluvia, cerca teníamos el río que mencioné antes, normalmente no tiene agua, pero como han sido días de lluvia estaba bastante lleno.

Mientras estábamos allí, decidimos comer y justo llegó un pequeño gatito al cual le empezamos a dar comida para que fuese parte del grupo y también disfrutara. Al cabo de media hora, más o menos dejó de llover, igual nos quedamos allí. Estuvimos hablando, jugando con una pelota que Daniel había llevado. Recorrimos un poco los alrededores, ya que como estábamos cerca del río nos fijamos en distintos lugares. Varias personas que también tuvieron la idea de ir al parque terminaron haciendo lo mismo que nosotros cuando les prohibieron la entrada también por la lluvia.
