This year I have to take Technology IV, the last level of this subject that involves a fairly high level of difficulty because you have to make a project and bring it to reality, so I would like to share this experience with you and that you accompany me throughout this year to see the final result. Como muchos ya sabrán por aquí, soy estudiante de diseño industrial a punto de terminar la carrera. Este año me toca cursar Tecnología IV, el ultimo nivel de esta materia que conlleva un nivel de dificultad bastante alto ya que hay que hacer un proyecto y llevarlo a la realidad, así que me gustaría poder compartir esta experiencia con ustedes y que me vayan acompañando a lo largo de este año hasta ver el resultado final ¿Qué les parece la idea?

With this post I open the project and begin to tell you how I started this pleasant but surely exhausting journey. To begin with, what should I do in Tecno IV? As I mentioned before the idea is to find a niche, a problem that affects several people or areas and based on this propose ideas for machines that can solve this, all with an industrial look, this means, that can be produced at low, medium or high scale and have all the necessary documentation to replicate it.
Con este post hago apertura del proyecto y comienzo a contarles como comencé con esta travesía agradable pero seguramente agotadora. Para comenzar ¿Qué debo hacer en Tecno IV? Como mencione anteriormente la idea es encontrar un nicho, un problema que afecte a varias personas o ámbitos y en base a esto proponer ideas de máquinas que puedan solucionar esto, todo con una mirada pensada en lo industrial, esto quiere decir, que pueda producirse a baja, mediana o alta escala y tener toda la documentación necesaria para replicarlo.

For my part, since last year I started looking for ideas, I am aware that it is a complicated matter so I started with time to order everything and I began to put together my team since it is necessary to have a group of 7 or 8 people. I had to get people I could trust, that I knew would work well, be responsible and have the necessary time to develop this long project.
Por mi parte, ya desde el año pasado comencé a buscar ideas, yo soy consciente que es una materia complicada así que comencé con tiempo a ordenar todo y empecé a armar mi equipo ya que es necesario contar con un grupo de 7 u 8 personas. Debía conseguir gente de confianza, que yo supiera que trabajaran bien, fueran responsables y contaran con el tiempo necesario para desarrollar este proyecto largo.
For this election I decided to be totally objective, so I put together a Google Form explaining what would be the work methodology and the requirements to participate in the group, plus some clarifications on the use of programs and versions to avoid incompatibility problems when working with 3D modeling files since I was aware that many friends from previous years had had such problems within their groups.
Para esta elección decidí ser totalmente objetivo, así que arme un Google Form explicando cual sería la metodología de trabajo y los requerimientos para poder participar del grupo, sumado a algunas aclaraciones con el tema de uso de programas y versiones para evitar problemas de incompatibilidad a la hora de trabajar con archivos de modelado 3D ya que era consciente de que muchos amigos de años anteriores habían tenido este tipo de problemas dentro de sus grupos.

So I passed this document, first to some acquaintances of the race with whom I had already worked and knew they were very responsible, the first members to meet the requirements were Sebastian Gonzales, Ines Gillanders, Valeria Barboza, Milagros del Rio and I Agustin Ramirez, each of us has very necessary skills for this work such as graphic representation, as we would have to make many sheets to explain the project, knowledge of the industry such as contact with suppliers, technical knowledge, programming, 3D modeling, etc.. The only thing a little complicated was the time of each one and the distances, since we all lived far away from each other.
Así que pase este documento, primero a unos conocidos de la carrera con los cuales ya había trabajado y sabían que eran muy responsables, los primeros integrantes en cumplir con los requisitos fueron Sebastián Gonzales, Inés Gillanders, Valeria Barboza, Milagros del Rio y yo Agustin Ramirez, cada uno de nosotros cuenta con habilidades muy necesarias para este trabajo como pueden ser representación gráfica, ya que tendríamos que hacer muchas laminas para explicar el proyecto, conocimientos de la industria como pueden ser contacto con proveedores, conocimientos técnicos, programación, modelado 3D, etc. Lo único un poco complicado eran los tiempos de cada uno y las distancias, ya que todos vivíamos lejos unos de otros.

So with these 5 members we only needed two more to complete the minimum number of people needed, but as the days passed Milagros del Rio left the group to join other projects, also of Tecno IV that interested her more, so now we had to look for the last 3 or 4 members for this work. We all thought of possible options, but none of us had other people we trusted for this matter, we were all aware of the responsibility of giving a name to join the group and preferred not to put our hands in the fire.
Así que ya con estos 5 integrantes solo nos faltaban dos más para completar el mínimo de personas necesarias, pero con el paso de los días Milagros del Rio abandono el grupo para sumarse a otros proyectos, también de Tecno IV que le interesaba más, así que ahora tocaba buscar a los últimos 3 o 4 integrantes para este trabajo. Entre todos pensamos posibles opciones, pero ninguno contaba con otras personas de confianza para esta materia, todos éramos conscientes de la responsabilidad que era dar un nombre para que ingrese al grupo y preferían no poner las manos en el fuego.
We asked for the general group of the subject if someone was still without group and some candidates emerged, so now it was my job to send them the Google forms to see if they were willing to comply with the rules of the game to join the team, some did not meet the requirements but we found 3 that could be useful, the only bad thing is that two of them had very tight times regarding their jobs and faculty but after talking about it they said they would be committed to reach good results with this work.
Preguntamos por el grupo general de la materia si alguien seguía sin grupo y surgieron algunos candidatos, así que ahora era mi trabajo enviarles el Google forms para ver si estaban dispuestos a cumplir con las reglas del juego para sumarse al equipo, algunos no cumplieron con los requisitos pero encontramos a 3 que podían ser de utilidad, lo único malo es que dos de ellos tenían tiempos muy ajustados respecto a sus trabajos y la facultad pero tras charlarlo dijeron que se iban a comprometer para llegar a buenos resultados con este trabajo

So the last 3 members were Paula Boggiano, Rodrigo Escalera and Lucas Taquino and with them we became 7 members in total and we considered that we did not need anyone else. It is very important to count on the participation and collaboration of everyone since it is a long, heavy and especially expensive project, nobody wants to make an investment so that half way through the idea fails and end up wasting time and money.
Así que los últimos 3 integrantes eran Paula Boggiano, Escalera Rodrigo y Lucas Taquino ya con ellos llegábamos a ser 7 integrantes en total y consideramos que no necesitábamos a nadie más. Es muy importante contar con la participación y colaboración de todos ya que es un proyecto largo, pesado y especialmente caro, nadie quiere realizar una inversión para que a mitad del camino la idea falle para terminar perdiendo tiempo y dinero.
A month before the start of classes we met to discuss possible ideas for the work, we preferred to have enough ideas because in the first week of classes we were already asked to bring proposals and usually there are many that end up being discarded. Now we had to wait to start the course and see how everything would develop.
Un mes antes de comenzar las clases nos reunimos a charlar sobre posibles ideas para el trabajo, preferíamos tener bastantes ya que en la primera semana de clases ya nos pedían llevar propuestas y generalmente hay muchas que terminan por ser descartadas. Ahora quedaba esperar a comenzar la cursada y ver como se iba desarrollando todo.
What do you think about this idea of cutting week by week how the work is evolving?
