In my years of going to school, I would not be a liar. I hated school, but I loved the round object that people played with every evening. Going to school clean and coming back dirty was my daily routine, apart from Saturdays and Sundays. I did get beaten by it though.
It happens that I am a very talented individual and could do everything I set my mind to the very best of it, but I lacked the community to show that talent. It was school that brought it out by force, joining me in various clubs like the press club, Home Economics, Food and Nutrition, Geography, Basic Technology, and Science. But the basics were taught and then you were left to survive in the world, so one point goes to school.
School Taught Me.
Community to survive in.
The world has taught me.
Survival in the community I live in.
I also remember I wasn't good in English. I had to watch cartoons, e.g., the original Ben10, Bakugan Battle Rollers, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Justice League, MegaXLR, Dexter, etc. These cartoons helped me become a good English speaker and active listener. While I was ahead in speaking and listening, I was behind in writing because although I understood every word, I could not put the pen on paper and start writing; I could misspell those words. School helped me by using punctuation marks, adjectives, verbs, putting it in writing like essays, and even spelling competitions. Those helped me in writing. Point two goes to school for shaping my very own English language.
What School Taught Me.
How to write.
What Society Taught Me
How to Communicate
Point Three has to be the love of the game of football or soccer as some call it. I found out that in football, it is all about mathematics and talents. For even the least fit player who is calculated in his play and has the talent is better than the man who is fit but lacks the talent, smartness, and calculations. I am not a fan of Maths; I never was until I decided to go higher with my gift in playing football. Every training you take, you make huge reference to simple Maths, Complex Maths, and Further Maths. Then it dawned on me what I missed, which was very essential in playing the game.
What School Taught Me
Mathematics and how to make it work
What Society Taught Me
How to make it simple and when to make it in use
I found out that the school does not give you what you want; rather, it gives you what you need - the raw materials but no support, the tools to farm but your character and discipline grow the crops which is the talent.
