Just sit and sip.
It is Cincau Station, a fairly well-known beverage brand in my city, especially its iced cincau with various flavors. Cincau itself is a type of jelly made from plant leaf extract. We often find it in drinks, but I personally don’t really like the taste of it. And despite its name, Cincau Station offers various menu items that don't include cincau. Guriin is one of them.
Guriin is actually a simple drink, made from a mixture of green tea and milk, then topped with ice cubes. Some people here might call it matcha, because somehow it tastes similar to matcha latte found in some cafes. But the price is less than $1. It cost IDR12.000 for a large size cup, which is around $0.75. Guriin is almost like a must-buy, as it's one of Cincau Station's signature menu.
This brand's outlets are almost always found in foodcourts in Surabaya malls. But last time, I went to their outlet that was in the Gwalk area. Gwalk is a modern culinary and entertainment center with a variety of attractive options for visitors. It’s a spacious outdoor area with a wide selection of foods and beverages. From delicious local food to exclusive international dishes, you can find them at Gwalk.
The Cincau Station outlet at Gwalk is quite comfortable. I was surprised that they provide a decent seating area, even some indoor seating. Since this isn't a cafe and the menu prices are quite affordable, providing a comfortable space for customers to linger isn't always found at other similar brand outlets.
I spent a few hours sitting there writing. There are cute cafes right in front of this outlet. The atmosphere was also not bad to spend time quietly. I’m pretty sure there’s no wifi, but sometimes that’s exactly what I needed the most to get more focus—no access to internet at all. And I ended up staying there until the afternoon.
That was a quite comfortable place with affordable drink menus so I should come back again. Thanks for reading as always, have a great day y’all! :)
