For centuries many people have asked themselves "what is the purpose of my existence?' and the are yet to get answers to it. Is a deep and personal subjective question that has been asked throughout history. However many individuals have attempted to define the purpose of life.
The purpose of life is subjective, and opinions can vary greatly based on individual beliefs, values, and experiences. Some may find meaning in relationships, career success, personal growth, or spirituality, while others may see life as simply an experience to be lived and enjoyed. Some people believe that the purpose of life is to seek happiness, others believe it is to serve others, and still others believe it is to fulfill a spiritual destiny. Ultimately, the purpose of life is up to each individual to determine for themselves.
What should I do to find the purpose of my life?
I know many people who have a deep sense of purpose. Some of them are working for rights of men and women, social justice, teaching, entertainment, developing art, or just helping others reach their homes during the pandemic. I believe that many have found divert ways to blend their passion, talents, and care for the world in a way that brings their lives with meaning.
Some of them have found their purpose after going through hardships growing up or even as an adult ranging from experience to education, illness to poverty, racism to injustice, creativity to spirituality etc. But for those who have not found their sense of purpose, it can still be found organically by reflecting on self Just as some people get creative when they are alone, while others are able to think from the questions posed by others, but whatever the situation, it makes you think.
Finding the purpose of your life can be a personal and ongoing journey. Here are a few steps that can help you discover your purpose:
1.Reflect on your values, beliefs, and interests: Start by considering what is important to you and what you are passionate about. Think about what you value in life and what brings you joy and fulfillment. Relate it the world around you and find the skills that you possess that improve what you care about.
2.Assess your strengths and skills: Consider what you are naturally good at and what skills you have developed over time. How can these skills help to apply to things that we care about? These can provide clues about what kind of work or activities you may find fulfilling.
3.Explore new experiences: Try new things, meet new people, and expose yourself to new ideas and perspectives. Try to engage in some volunteering activities where you meet people who share the same passion. This can help you discover new interests and passions and gain a better understanding of yourself, and it also help to sustain your purpose.
4.Seek guidance from others: Talk to friends, family, and mentors who know you well and ask for their perspective on your strengths and potential. Reach out to your close ones and ask about your strengths, their learnings of life, and assess how it can influence your values in daily life. Doing this over a period of time helps discover your value and how to use them.
5.Set goals and take action: Once you have a clearer sense of what your purpose might be, set specific, achievable goals for yourself and take action towards them. Practice positive emotions such as blessings, gratitude, and empathy as they help in well-being. This can help you bring your purpose to life.
Finding your purpose is a lifelong journey and it may change and evolve over time. The most important thing is to be open, reflective, and persistent in your search. Just try to look inside you and find your inner compass and align yourself.
