Hello everyone, welcome once again to my space and to the amazing hive reachout weekly prompt 50. This week's topic is tagged IOS or Android and I'm glad to share my opinion on both and which do I prefer.
When it comes to smartphones, the biggest debate that is always coming up is the issue between an Android phone and an iOS phone. Everyone has his/her own preferred choice but for me, I prefer the Android phone.
I have my reasons for choosing Android over iOS phones. I'm someone that love to curtomizing my phone to my desired appearance or look. I love to personalize my phone to my desired look. Android offer me this choice of me changing the style of my phone, the home screen layout, icon and the widgets. I can install a desired launcher that can change how my phone appearance look. But the iOS phone have restrictions to most of this things. You get stuck with the iOS strick rules, you can't change or move the icons freely, like the icons remain in a grid, no home screen customization, you can't change default apps easily.
One major challenge I had with the iOS is it's closed ecosystem. You are not free to do most things. I've tried connecting an iOS phone to my PC but I find it difficult to connect because of it's restrictions. With my Android, I just had to connect my USB cable to the system and grant it permission, that is it, I easily transfer files and data from my phone to my PC. But with the iOS, transferring files is harder because iOS don't work as smoothly with window or other devices. Is either you need an itunes or iCloud. Aside from that, you get stuck or forced to use iOS apps as default, no alternative apps.
I've noticed that most people I know especially my friends who use iOS phone often have power banks with them and they carry it around. Many of them complain of the battery capacity of the phone, that it doesn't last long. That's a very big challenge. Imaging you have to be carrying power bank around just because you know your phone might not last long when you are operating it. I have used an Android phone (Itel product) before that is used to charge another phone. Like the capacity of the battery is big enough to serve as power bank to charge another phone.
There is no doubt that the clarity of iOS camera and it's security system is good because that's what most people use to say but also there are Androids like Samsung, Pixel, Redmi that has good cameras and security system to.
Also most of the IOS applications are either paid or subscription, which means you have to pay or subscribe to their applications unlike the Android phone that offer wide variety of alternative applications that you use without paying or subscribing to.
Also when it comes to budgeting for an iOS, you will have to save alot especially in my country Nigeria where the rate of dollar to naira is high, if you want to buy an IOS, then should be ready with like 200 thousand for the least IOS and above. But with a budget of 100 thousand, you can have a good Android that can serve you well.
Well, that's my own opinion on the two phones, like i said everyone have his/her preferred choice and what you like might not be what i like. The truth is both the iOS and Android are good phones and are both unique in their own way.
