When I first heard the word temperament, I was in Jss 2. I had seen the word in a book and after searching the dictionary we had at home, it just gave me a brief definition.
I didn't really understand it and had to go to my mom to ask.
Just like me, my mom is an avid reader of books. You could say, she influenced me into reading books.
I met her while she was cooking, "Mom, What is Temperament?"
My mom paused and turned to look at me.
"Hmm, Temperament is a natural part of your personality, your behavior, that determines how you react to situations, people, and your environment. Even the way you eat, the way you study, the way you write and how you think...."
My mom continued explaining to me and after I asked her so many questions and felt that I had understood it, she promised to give me a book.
The title of the book is, "WHY YOU ACT HE WAY YOU DO" by TIM LAHAYE.
Up till today, I still have the book with me. The book shaped me in many ways and even thought me how to be more observant. How to manage my flaws and try to keep myself in check.
The book taught me how to evaluate myself and identify my weaknesses.
Through the book, I realized that I was a bit timid when it comes to approaching someone.
I'd prefer the person come meet me first than be the first one to initiate a talk. I didn't like that and I tried to be more bold in whatever I was doing.
It also taught me that changing by words or actions alone is not enough. I need to change with the help of the holy Spirit.
We have four temperament, from which other temperament are derived from and they are;
- Sanguine
- Choleric
- Melancholy
- Phlegmatic
So for my temperament, I am more of the ChlorMel i.e Melancholy and Choleric.
I also have some bits of Sanguine, depending on the situation.
Infact, it's a bit complex that sometimes even I am confused.
One might say, what makes me think I am a ChlorMel.
Being an industrious person by nature, I can't count how many business I have done in the name of chasing money.
I have done drop shipping, I have been an ambassador to some companies to promote the sales of their apps and products.
I have even sold Oriflame products, to which I had to stop because of the exorbitant prices of the products.
Imagine a seller that can't afford even one product. That was just how crazy it was.
I became an intermediary for businesses, but that also didn't last long as I didn't like the stress. The stress just did not equate the worth.
My writing career wasn't stopped. Though I had to halt it at times due to some issues, like when I lost all my novel drafts.
It hasn't even been long when I experienced another draft loss.
This happened last week. I was reading for the test we had and my phone bringing its own problem, began to hang.
Even to open the document became an issue. I didn't print the handout, so it was frustrating, especially as I had the energy and mind to read at that moment.
Soon, my phone began giving me delete pop ups. I pressed Ok and many things got deleted.
Before I knew it, everything in my phone was wiped out. I was logged out of every single app on my phone.
My WhatsApp refused to open and even the document that I was meant to read, disappeared.
I was stunned for a moment but I didn't let it get to me.
I opened my writing app to relieve of the energy and noticed that I had to also sign in back again.
My heart began to thump as an ominous sensation washed over me. I prayed inwardly and hoped it wasn't what I dreaded.
Lo and behold, all my novel drafts were gone. 16 novels— 13 uncompleted ones, 3 contracted ones and even the ones I had written for other companies as a ghostwriter vanished.
I panicked and began looking for ways to restore it.
Luckily, I was able to recover one from my cloud, another one from the email I had sent to my editor.
They were both incomplete but at least it was something.
It was funny how i didn't break down or scream and even my panicking was only for a moment.
After a while, my brain was already thinking of churning out another new novel.
I ended up prematurely ending one of the contracted works. You can check it out on Webnovel, title: Zosia: Quick Transmigration System.
Those in this line of work will be able to recognize the genre just from the title alone.
I had so many goals and hopes of how I wanted the novel to end and even plan on rewriting it, since it has quite some grammatical errors.
I can go on and on mentioning a lot of things that makes me say, I am a ChlorMel, but I wouldn't want to bore you with it.
Rather, I am just gonna list out key personalities that makes one a ChlorMel.
- Optimism
- An industrious or capable person
- A goal oriented person
- Quick witted and has an analytical mind.
- A practical person.
- A verbally aggressive person and quite sarcastic .
- Autocratic personality.
- Strong—Willed
- Irregular work habits
- Has a bit of perfectionism.
There are many others, but these are the few I can remember.
How about checking out yours... Maybe you'd find something you never knew about yourself.
