I have been privileged to go through school right from kindergarten to the higher institution and I preferred my school experience compared to the rest. So in this prompt I'll go with my favorite subject in highschool. Honestly, if I were to pick a subject it'll have to be literature. I happened to pass through the Arts arm back in secondary school and literature was one of the core subjects we offered in that arm of secondary school.
I'm a reader in nature. I just have this love for going through novels and books generally of great interest. Aside the reading aspect, what really interested me in that subject was the drama we ended up acting on some occasions. Before I made it to the senior secondary, I usually do see some of my seniors in the art department in costumes as they did a play. People would usually cluster around the spot where they were acting the drama and I also made my way across the crowd to have a view of their drama. It was just really interesting to watch. That was what made me know that I'll end up in the Arts department and not the Science or Commercial.
Back to the reading aspect, it really made me a better reader, even beyond just novels or other story books. It basically grew my interest for books that are educative as well. Not to mention how it properly structured and improve my English. Even if sometimes I performed terribly in other subjects at the end of the term, it was not the same for Literature.
I think literature still remains a very important subject that should continue to be thought in secondary schools. It's really an interesting subject and quite educative in a lot of ways.
