Seriously, To be frank here I don’t think I’d be the person I am today without the internet. As a Computer Science guru and someone who loves doing research, I’ve seen how much the internet has changed the way we learn, interact and even the way we reason.
Gone are the days, learning meant sitting in a classroom, reading one textbook to another, and hoping your teacher explained things well enough. But now with the way the internet has circulate! With just a phone and data, I can watch tutorials, join online communities, read articles, and find answers to whatever i need through internet
Also, the internet made learning versatile and more accessible. You don’t have to wait till tomorrow’s class disturbing or stressing your brain. For instance, if you're stuck on a topic at 12pm, YouTube or Google is there for you to get a solution for that .But here’s something deeper I have observed the internet doesn’t just change how we learn; it changes how we can think outside the box instead of being dullard upstairs .
Furthermore, it's good and bad to be honest. On one hand, it’s amazing to have so much knowledge at our fingertips. On the other hand, we sometimes don’t go deep enough because we’re overloaded with too much information. That’s why I always try to balance it. I use the internet to explore new ideas and also be creative but I also take time to reflect and apply what I learn, not by just jumping from one topic to another topic. Another exciting thing is how the internet connects learners. Platforms like Hive, YouTube, Facebook and even WhatsApp groups have made it easier to learn from real people not just instructors, teachers, or facilitators but everyday people who share their experience and ideas.
So to all my fellow Hive Reachout members, I’m curious how has the internet changed the way you learn and think? And also do you find it easier to study now through the availability of the internet in this 21st century?
