Feliz noche, amigos de Hive. Los saludo con mucho cariño, deseando de corazón que se encuentren bien. En esta oportunidad quiero mostrarle el paso a paso de la reparación que llevó a cabo mi papá, en un tanque que tenemos pero que estaba roto y por ende, se votaba el agua.
Happy evening, friends of Hive. I greet you with much affection, wishing you well from the bottom of my heart. In this opportunity I want to show you the step by step of the repair that my dad carried out on a tank that we have but that was broken and therefore, the water was leaking.
Este tanque comenzó a filtrar el por donde está colocada la tubería, luego se le tuvo que rodar una tubería para un espacio que estaba en perfectas condiciónes; pero luego el sitio donde estuvo la tubería anteriormente empezó a tener muchos botes de agua. Aunque repetida veces, mi papá le colocó varios pegamentos, entre ellos pegatanque; no funcionó con ninguno de ellos.
This tank began to leak where the pipe is placed, then a pipe had to be rolled in for a space that was in perfect condition; but then the place where the pipe was previously placed began to have a lot of water leaks. Although my dad repeatedly applied various adhesives, including glue, it did not work with any of them.
En vista de que mi papá no pudo solventar el problema con todos los procedimientos anteriores, tuvo que ingeniárselas para poder reparar el tanque de una forma muy minuciosa. Los materiales que utilizó fueron los siguientes:
- 6 tornillos.
- 6 tuercas.
- 12 arandelas.
- Un estuche de silicón.
- Dos pedazos de gomas de las que utilizan los camiones para parar el barro.
Since my dad could not solve the problem with all of the above procedures, he had to figure out how to repair the tank in a very thorough way. The materials he used were the following:
- 6 bolts.
- 6 nuts.
- 12 washers.
- A silicone case.
- Two pieces of rubber bands used by trucks to stop mud.
Las herramientas utilizadas fueron:
- Dos llaves ajustables.
- Un taladro.
- Una mandarria pequeña.
The tools used were:
- Two adjustable wrenches.
- One drill.
- A small mandarria.
Para comenzar, mi papá perforó la goma con el taladro ubicando la posición de los tornillos sobre la misma. Fueron un total de seis orificios que se le realizaron a la goma, con el objetivo de que quedara lo más sellado posible a la hora de cubrir el daño que tenía el tanque.
To begin with, my dad drilled the rubber with the drill, locating the position of the screws on it. A total of six holes were drilled in the rubber, so that it would be as sealed as possible to cover the damage to the tank.
Posteriormente, mi papá colocó los tornillos en la primera goma ya perforada, para utilizarlos de guía y saber dónde se perforaría la siguiente goma. Una vez colocada la segunda goma en la punta de los tornillos, golpeó con la mandarria a los tornillos con el fin de marcar en la otra goma, el punto exacto donde se perforarían los orificios de la misma. Esto es para que ambas gomas se acoplen a la perfección mediante los tornillos.
Afterwards, my dad placed the screws in the first rubber already drilled, to use them as a guide to know where the next rubber would be drilled. Once the second rubber was placed on the tip of the screws, he hit the screws with the mandarin to mark on the other rubber, the exact point where the holes would be drilled in it. This is so that both rubber bands are perfectly coupled by the screws.
Después de tener la marca de los tornillos en la segunda goma, se utiliza nuevamente el taladro con una mecha mas gruesa para perforar las siguientes goma. Luego se verifica que ambas gomas se ensamblen perfectamente con los seis tornillos.
After having the mark of the screws on the second rubber, the drill is used again with a thicker drill bit to drill the next rubber. Then check that both rubber bands are perfectly assembled with the six screws.
A continuación, mi papá colocó la goma sobre la parte afectada del tanque; para marcar el sitio en donde van las perforaciones del mismo y así utilizar de nuevo el taladro en el tanque.
Next, my dad placed the rubber on the affected part of the tank; to mark the place where the perforations of the tank are going so that he could use the drill on the tank again.
Aquí pueden apreciar el tanque con sus seis orificios, en el área que se va a reparar.

Bajo un sol inclemente, mi papá se introdujo en el tanque para comenzar a trabajar desde la parte interna, por donde va a ir una de las gomas; mientras que por el lado de arriba estaba un amigo ayudándolo con la otra goma, para que se acoplaran y se pudieran unir con el ajuste de los seis tornillos.
Under an inclement sun, my dad got into the tank to start working from the inside, where one of the rubber bands will go; while on the upper side was a friend helping him with the other rubber band, so that they could be coupled and joined with the adjustment of the six screws.
Luego de corroborar que ambas piezas se acoplaban bien en el área dañada del tanque, mi papá le añadió pegamento de silicón a las dos gomas. Cubrió las gomas con el pegamento; por las orillas y en el área donde van los tornillos.
After verifying that both pieces fit well in the damaged area of the tank, my dad added silicone glue to the two rubber bands. He covered the rubber bands with the glue; around the edges and in the area where the screws go.
Teniendo las gomas el pegamento adherido, mi papá se introdujo en el tanque y colocó una de las gomas por dentro, mientras que por el lado de afuera un amigo le colocó la otra goma; la cual estará atravesada por los tornillos. Una vez que los tornillos atraviesen la goma de la parte superior, se colocaron tuercas y arandelas, para fijar más estás gomas, que sirven como un parcho resistente para el tanque.
Once the glue was adhered to the rubber bands, my dad got inside the tank and placed one of the bands on the inside, while on the outside a friend placed the other band; which will be crossed by the screws. Once the screws go through the rubber on the top, nuts and washers were placed to further secure these rubber bands, which serve as a resistant patch for the tank.
Después de ajustar las gomas bien apretadas con los tornillos, mi papá le colocó silicón por la orilla de la goma y sobre los tornillos; de esta manera se evitará una posible filtración y se impedirá que los tornillos se oxiden con rapidez.
After tightening the rubber bands securely with the screws, my dad put silicone around the edge of the rubber and over the screws; this will prevent possible leakage and prevent the screws from rusting quickly.

Después de un arduo trabajo, bajo un sol extenuante, mi papá concluyó con esta actividad. Inferimos que por un buen tiempo ya no se filtrará más el agua. Dejamos que el tanque llevara sol durante todo el día, con el propósito de que el pegamento cobrará fuerza, resistencia; y así tener éxito en este trabajo.
After a lot of hard work, under an exhausting sun, my dad concluded this activity. We inferred that for a long time the water would no longer leak. We let the tank be in the sun all day long, so that the glue would gain strength, resistance, and thus succeed in this work.
