Greetings!
A few days ago when I finally got the time to start my months-old idea of building a scaled model of Bahay Kubo I realized that I should build the commonly seen furniture inside a Bahay Kubo first instead of the Bahay Kubo itself.
With that said I started by building a scaled model of a bamboo chair. As I am building the bamboo chair I realized that the size of the bamboo chair will be the basis of the size of the scaled models that I am going to build next so I made the smallest bamboo chair possible.
By the way, here's a fun trivia, in Ilokano dialect/language, we call a table "Lamisaan" (read as Lamisa-an) be it a wooden table, glass table, stone table, and the like.
But we, Ilokanos also have a specific name for some kinds of table. For example, we call a bamboo (kawayan) table "Lamisaan nga kawayan", we call a wood table as "Lamisaan nga tabla".
Also, we Ilokanos came to call a bamboo table "Lamisaan nga kawayan" is because of course it is made of bamboo (kawayan) and "Lamisaan nga Kawayan" is a counterpart of the Tagalog term "Lamesang Kawayan".
Building the Scaled Bamboo Table
And so come the time in building a bamboo table (since I first built a bamboo chair first I think it is only logical that I build a bamboo table next).
I started by creating the four legs of the table with a height of 2 inches.

And then I followed by creating a tabletop frame with a size of 2 inches by 3 inches.

Putting the Pieces Together
After creating all the needed parts it is now time to put the pieces together. I am still going to use a glue gun in putting the parts in place.
The first that I glued together is the tabletop frame.
Gluing the tabletop frame
After I glued the tabletop frame I proceeded in gluing the pieces of the tabletop.

Here's the reverse view of the tabletop after I glued the pieces together.

Finished product with the bamboo chair that I made a few days ago. Click here to see the post on how I made the scaled model of bamboo chair.
For comparison here's a cherry tomato (right) and a larger cherry tomato (left)

Here's the bamboo that I used in building this bamboo table (which is a remnant of the bamboo that I used in creating the bamboo chair, I only used a portion of this cut of bamboo. I will be using the remaining in building a "Katre" or bamboo bed.
