Boat is a small boat made of natural wood which is the dominant main ingredient of teak wood from the Aceh forest. There are many types of boats in this Pusong village, One of them is a boat used by village fishermen to catch fish. When I visited this village I saw a boat that was being built and the manufacturing process, it can be said that this boat is almost finished. pieces of teak wood purchased by a boat builder at a wood agent that has been cut into pieces to be installed in the manufacture of the boat.

For traditional boat making it takes 2 years in the process, this is a project that is guided by the architect of the boat maker, every work on this boat takes 5 to 10 workers manually, maybe the technique in this process uses machines, such as wood cutting machines , planer machines, and several other machines such as drills.

There I saw this boat in the process of being built and almost finished, it is estimated that it will be finished in the next 3 months, it can be seen that the boat has been painted on the boat body and deck or boat house, I personally really admire the process of making the boat, in detail and design. done very neatly, this Architect has worked on several boats to completion, and the cost for making the boat costs $ 2,000,000 USD, the price is not cheap I think.

Boat owners who are called fishermen who have wealth as entrepreneurs in the fisheries sector must really master fishing techniques or what we call top level fishermen, because every boat owner will employ fishermen to look for fish in the ocean, for the fishermen will stay on the boat and cook and stay on the boat when they start to sea (looking for fish).

Regarding the color, the paint has colorful colors, and it all depends on its uniqueness, the colors used are bright colors such as red green and usually most of the boats use white and blue, I rarely see black boats around here. Maybe this will be a question for me why boats are rarely black.

Then the most important thing during the painting process is the putty process, this putty was previously scraped off and leveled and arranged with a shaver which is used using a machine to smooth the wood, then after smooth the wood is given adhesive then putty as leak proof then the next process is the painting process , usually this process takes 1 month.

Next is the room for the boat machinist and the engine or motor for the boat, the processing of the engine to move the boat also has an important role and has a special place, all the materials needed for the motor boat engine are stored in this room, anything like: fuel, oil, tools, keys, and other materials will be placed in the engine room.

Furthermore, the fish shelter, in the photo below which is green in color is a tube for holding fish when the fishermen have caught fish, not only for storing fish, this tube can also be used as a place to store ice and water, this tube is planted on the hull of the ship. and only the lid is visible.

This tube has an area of ​​1 square meter, and has up to 6 to 8 tubes made, the material of this tube is made of fiber so that if you add ice it doesn't melt easily, usually when fishermen start sailing using this big boat, it takes 1 week, so from some This tube can also be stored food ingredients because this tube is made vacuum.

Here is the boat dockyard that I visited, the boat from a distance looks so beautiful with so many colors and so big, it is located in Pusong village, Lhokseumawe, Aceh, Indonesia. I visited this place in the afternoon, afternoon is the time for boat builders to rest, they will return to their activities in the morning, of course this is a new experience for me.
