Hello to all Hive friends! One of the most common locations where various architectural works of relevant importance are located, is the neighborhood of San Nicolas. It is an area where you can find historical patrimonies mostly referring to banking entities or central houses.
There is a small area where 4 corners are located where four of them would make a quartet of works mentioning the mortgage bank, head office of the bank of the nation, german transatlantic bank and the palace of the reconquest, and it is of this last one that I will mention in this opportunity.
Hola a todos amigos de Hive! Una de las localidades más habituales en dónde se encuentran ubicados diversas obras arquitectónicas de relevante importancia, es el barrio de San Nicolás. Es una zona en dónde se encuentran patrimonios históricos mayormente referentes a entidades bancarias o casas centrales.
Existe una pequeña zona en dónde se sitúan 4 esquinas en dónde cuatro de ellas harían un cuarteto de obras mencionando el banco hipotecario, casa matriz del banco de la nación, banco alemán transatlántico y el palacio de la reconquista, y es de este último del que haré mención en esta oportunidad.
This building is located on Reconquista Street in the vicinity of the Plaza de Mayo, where the Casa Rosada is located, and serves as a bank and office building, beginning its construction in 1912 and finishing in 1920, the date of its inauguration. Louis Newbery Thomas and Paul Bell Chambers, both English architects, were in charge of its construction and design.
The locality where it is located is considered the financial area of the city of Buenos Aires.
Esta obra está ubicada en la calle Reconquista en las cercanías de la plaza de mayo donde se encuentra ubicada la casa rosada y funciona como sede de banco y oficinas empezando su construcción para el año 1912 y finalizandolo para el año 1920, fecha de su inauguración. Los encargados de su construcción y diseño fueron Louis Newbery Thomas y Paul Bell Chambers, ambos arquitectos ingleses.
La localidad de dónde está ubicado es considerada la zona financiera de la ciudad porteña.
The style that characterizes this work is an academicist style. The building currently houses the headquarters of the Supervielle bank, although other banking institutions such as the Banco del Rio de la Plata and the Bank of Italy used to operate there.
The bank was originally built and operated as the Anglo-South American bank and then passed through all the other branches and entities mentioned above.
El estilo que caracteriza ésta obra se trata de un estilo academicista. En el edificio funciona actualmente la sede del banco Supervielle, aunque antes funcionaron otras entidades bancarias como lo fueron el banco del río de la plata y el banco de Italia.
El banco en un principio fue construido y funcionó como el banco anglo sudamericano para luego pasar por todas las demás sucursales y entidades antes mencionadas.
The building has a large central hall and in the basement are the vaults and storage rooms, it has fixed garages and its walls and floors are made of marble. In the same Reconquista street is located a plaque that represents that the building was recognized receiving the 2nd prize for the best facade.
El edificio cuenta con un gran salón central y en el subsuelo si encuentran las bóvedas y sus depósitos, siente cocheras fijas y en cuanto a sus paredes y pisos podemos decir que llevan mármol como material. En la misma calle Reconquista se encuentra ubicado una placa que representa que el edificio fue reconocido recibiendo el 2do premio a la mejor fachada.
I personally consider that the buildings in Buenos Aires that are given more relevance in terms of architecture are mostly banking institutions, thus adopting different styles among them the academicism, neoclassical, brutalist styles and I should also mention that, I have called my attention among so many styles the Brutalist and classical Greek styles that are composed of Corinthian style columns.
This is a personal taste and I must emphasize that each post I make in this community has generated an important passion for me to obtain knowledge in this area of architecture, something that I had not discovered before and that through these contents has awakened my interest a lot.
Considero personalmente que los edificios en Buenos Aires a los que se les da mayor relevancia en términos de arquitectura son es su mayoría a entidades bancarias, adoptando así diferentes estilos entres ellos el academicismo, neoclasicos, estilos brutalistas y debo mencionar además que, me ha llamado la atención entre tantos estilos el Brutalista y los estilos clásicos griegos que son compuestos por columnas del estilo corintio.
Esto es un gusto personal y debo destacar que cada post que realizo en ésta comunidad me ha generado una importante pasión con obtener conocimientos en ésta área de la arquitectura, cosa que antes no había descubierto y que a traves de estos contenidos se ha despertado muchísimo mi interés.
This last photo that I share with you represents what I mentioned at the beginning about the four buildings that are composed between the four corners being the present palace of the reconquest, the headquarters of the nation bank, the Brutalist work of the mortgage bank, both mentioned individually in different posts and the German transatlantic bank, forming between the four buildings a curious X, which make a quite interesting photographic composition.

Ésta última foto que les comparto representa lo que les mencioné en un principio acerca de los cuatro edificios que se componen entre las cuatro esquinas tratándose del presente palacio de la reconquista, la casa matriz del banco nación, la obra Brutalista del banco hipotecario, ambos mencionados de forma individual en diferentes posts y el banco alemán transatlántico, formando entre los cuatro edificios una curiosa X, que hacen una composición fotografica bastante interesante.
