Quienes nos siguen, saben bien sobre la cantidad de veces que hemos estado en Buenos Aires. Para quienes no lo saben, es nuestro tercer periplo por la capital argentina y lo que más nos sorprende de ésta urbe es la inagotable proporción de estampas citadinas de las cuales usted se puede apropiar. Y es que su arquitectura de origen europeo, es testigo de la riqueza del país que existió en la época colonial y hasta inicios del siglo XX, cuando se levantaron edificios de invaluable valor histórico hoy día. Si a eso sumamos la arquitectura moderna, algo con lo que usted puede tropezar en zonas de la ciudad aledañas como San Telmo y Puerto Madero, tenemos una mezcla increíble de vistas para todos los gustos y edades. Nada de lo antecedente es extraordinario, porque otros lo han dicho antes, pero Buenos Aires es un buen ejemplo de ciudad amigable donde establecerse.

Those who follow us, know well about the number of times we have been in Buenos Aires. For those who don't know, this is our third trip to the Argentine capital and what surprises us most about this city is the inexhaustible proportion of cityscapes that you can appropriate. Its architecture of European origin is a witness of the richness of the country that existed in colonial times and until the beginning of the 20th century, when buildings of invaluable historical value were erected. Add to that the modern architecture, something you can stumble upon in neighboring areas of the city such as San Telmo and Puerto Madero, and you have an incredible mix of sights for all tastes and ages. None of the above is extraordinary, because others have said it before, but Buenos Aires is a good example of a friendly city to settle down in.
Y hemos traído parte de esas estampas a ésta publicación, partiendo desde un paseo a pie (la mejor manera de recorrer rincones citadinos), hecho el mismo día de nuestro recorrido por el Mercado de San Telmo. Nos hemos ido caminando desde el lugar mencionado por la calle Estados Unidos, hasta arribar a Puerto Madero. Un antiguo puerto a orillas de un afluente del Río de la Plata, el lugar fue intervenido para hacer de él un paseo muy lindo. En los bordes de sus aceras se agolpan una gran cantidad de bares y restaurantes que compiten por capturar la atención de los turistas y tienen una oferta que usted puede disfrutar desde mesas externas con vista al puerto. Toda una experiencia preciosa donde el centro de atención se lo lleva el "Puente de la Mujer", una infraestructura funcional que cruza ambas orillas del afluente y tiene como característica de identidad, una puntiaguda aguja apuntando al cielo azul bonaerense.

And we have brought part of those pictures to this publication, starting from a walking tour (the best way to visit city corners), made the same day of our tour of the Mercado de San Telmo. We have walked from the mentioned place along Estados Unidos street, until arriving at Puerto Madero. An old port on the banks of a tributary of the Rio de la Plata, the place was intervened to make it a very nice walk. On the edges of its sidewalks are crowded a lot of bars and restaurants that compete to capture the attention of tourists and have an offer that you can enjoy from outside tables overlooking the harbor. A beautiful experience where the center of attention is the “Puente de la Mujer”, a functional infrastructure that crosses both banks of the river and has as its identity characteristic, a pointed needle pointing to the blue sky of Buenos Aires.
Ayer tuvimos una oportunidad enorme favorecida por nuestro muy querido editor jefe en @fulldeportes. @aventurerasbike y éste redactor quedamos en vernos con @hosgug en un Bar histórico fundado en 1864, llamado Federal, el cual queda ubicado en Carlos Calvo 599. Allí tuvimos una charla increíblemente variada sobre diferentes temas y el tiempo se nos fue entre tragos de sidra tirada y algunos bocados. Un momento muy lindo y que fue rematado con una caminata de varias cuadras por lugares de interés cercanos. El sitio es aledaño con varias joyas arquitectónicas bonaerenses y la fortuna quiso que nuestro amable acompañante y baquiano nos hablara sobre ellas, conforme avanzaba la caminata. La verdad, quiero dar gracias públicamente a Héctor por tan desprendida manera de hacernos sentir consentidos, además de ser un anfitrión de lujo.

Yesterday we had a great opportunity favored by our very dear editor in chief at @fulldeportes. @aventurerasbike and this editor arranged to meet @hosgug in a historic bar founded in 1864, called Federal, which is located in Carlos Calvo 599. There we had an incredibly varied chat about different topics and the time went by between drinks of cider and some snacks. A very nice moment that was topped off with a walk of several blocks through nearby places of interest. The site is adjacent to several architectural jewels of Buenos Aires and as luck would have it, our kind companion and baquiano told us about them, as the walk progressed. I really want to publicly thank Hector for his kind way of making us feel pampered, besides being a luxury host.
Nos sorprendieron la gran variedad de edificaciones parecidas a la arquitectura parisina y madrileña, de las cuales dejamos referencia en las imágenes acá compartidas. Lo más lindo fue caminar bajo las lámparas en el "Paseo de las Luces", además de disfrutar los detalles en las paredes de los edificios, hechos con un cuidado de artesano y una riqueza artística preciosa. Jamás podrá usted quedar indiferente a tales postales visuales y la razón tiene que ver con la arquitectura moderna, una disciplina que desprecia el trabajo detallado para favorecer el ahorro de costes. Y es verdad, muchas capitales latinoamericanas tienen bellezas arquitectónicas de la época colonial, pero ninguna puede igualar la percepción del poder en la riqueza de una nación por aquella época, igual que lo hace la ciudad de Buenos Aires.

We were surprised by the great variety of buildings similar to Parisian and Madrid architecture, of which we leave reference in the images shared here. The most beautiful thing was to walk under the lamps in the “Paseo de las Luces”, besides enjoying the details on the walls of the buildings, made with a craftsman's care and a precious artistic richness. You can never be indifferent to such visual postcards and the reason has to do with modern architecture, a discipline that despises detailed work in favor of cost savings. And it is true, many Latin American capitals have architectural beauties of the colonial era, but none can match the perception of the power in the wealth of a nation at that time, as does the city of Buenos Aires.
