THERE ARE MANY SURPRISES THAT LIFE CAN GIVE, SOME ARE GOOD AND OTHERS A BIT INTRIGUING.
A few days ago my father invited me to go with him to deliver the gown with which he graduated from the ENAHP; the first thought that came to my mind was that I would be the caretaker of the car while he went to college.
Do not imagine that just near the ENAHP University there would be a Shopping Center that had a private parking lot, with a high degree of surveillance plus a large number of clothing, food, sports and home furniture stores.
Los Ruices Shopping Center. Located in Venezuela - Capital District- Los Ruices main avenue.
Historically, its construction ended in mid-1973 as a large building made up of two towers (1) that is only two stories high where there is access to private parking and one (2) tower that currently functions in part as a warehouse for merchandise such as car rental. office.
At first glance it seemed like a very nice place because:
It has a parking lot on the first floor, which means that people with certain disabilities can get to the store they want to visit more quickly.
Although the parking lot is outdoors, without a roof or fence, there are a large number of surveillance cameras that work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Upon entering the first thing I could see was the large space that is within the structure of the Los Ruices Shopping Center.
The color palette used on this occasion for the interior ranges from white, cream - light beige, gray, as well as small details in shades of blue.
Objectively, despite the fact that this first part is only 2 floors, there are a large number of stores on the sides of the building, which have their own storage, dressing rooms or 1 own bathroom according to the needs of the owner.
Then you can see these small stores that, unlike the previous ones, have a smaller space and do not have their own bathroom, so they must go to the common bathroom used by visitors as future buyers.
Following my intuition, walking and observing everything around me, I realized that this shopping center, unlike others I have visited as in the case of the Multiplazas Shopping Center where the structure is fully roofed, this on the contrary has a large opening in the roof, where in this particular case different almost transparent glass panels were placed to bring natural light into the building.
In this way, lighting costs are reduced during the day and when night falls, the white LED lamps do most of the work of illuminating the entire shopping center, including certain parts of the private parking lot.
Another point of view that I must add is that despite the fact that approximately 49 years have passed since its creation, the support columns are still in perfect condition with no signs of any fracture or severe wear and tear.
The same goes for the floors, which are made with a thick layer of concrete capable of supporting the weight of the structure plus the weight of the people who frequent the Mall.
A surprising factor is that there is a part of the mall that has an elevator, since in addition to the two floors it is two stories high, it has subway parking.
These elevators were strategically placed to move from one floor to another for people who frequent the mall from time to time, since on the wall there is an image that makes it clear that it can only support the weight of 2 people, approximately 170 kilos.
At the same time, as the different variants of COVID still exist, it is a rule to use a mask when entering the mall.
Another highlight is the large ramp located inside the mall, which connects the ground floor or floor 1 to floor 2.
The same ramp is also used by the so-called shopping carts to bring down the market at the Central Madeirense Supermarket located on the 2nd floor to the 1st floor.
The greatest advantage is the easy mobility it provides for people in wheelchairs.
FUN FACT
I found it somewhat amusing that I could not find anywhere a sign or word that identified the Mall, so after going through all the aisles the only thing I could find was this garbage can that says in blue letters: Centro Comercial Los Ruices.
So I think from empirical knowledge that it is partly about the culture of the country, sometimes only have 3 objects that identify the construction of a shopping center physically but also to enter pages like Pinmapple or Google Maps these constructions and buildings are clearly identified.
In conclusion I am really happy to be able to visit unexpectedly with my father this Mall, it was a nice adventure since I could share more time with him and at the same time I found this structure that has different stores that I had never seen before.
The façade, although not flashy, is very well kept.
There are some visible details on the second floor that show some wear of the white paint, perhaps due to the years or water leaks.
It should also be noted that there are parts in the walls of the roof where you can see that the naturelaza makes its way over the concrete; even so I find this mall safe from possible collapses by earthquakes and tropical storms.
And that it will take more years to see a total remodeling since even the ceramic floor tiles are in perfect condition.
