Greetings dear friends lovers of architecture and design, I wish you the best in this Monday beginning of the week.

Today I share with you night images of the Sambil shopping center located in the city of Barquisimeto, one of the most striking shopping centers in terms of architectural design.

A few days ago I was visiting it with my wife, because we went to take our daughter who was going to meet her college classmates.

They planned to have a reunion there to enjoy the soccer game between Venezuela and Uruguay, celebrating that they recently finished the semester and are now on vacation.
My wife and I took advantage of the visit to tour the stores. We took pictures and enjoyed an ice cream.

This mall has an architectural design in the shape of the region's characteristic musical instrument: the cuatro.

In the center is the architectural design of the food fair, whose striking roof is made of a metal structure in the form of a spine supported by six large metal masts over 20 meters high. The roof cover is made of a textile canvas that covers the entire area and is wrapped around the masts that come out of it like sharp spears, as can be seen in the aerial photograph.

On the inside you can see the large metal structure that crosses the entire length of the area in the form of a spine and is the one that serves as a support for the entire roof structure.

That night the food fair was decorated with colorful balloons that made a nice decorative effect inside the roof. There are several commercial premises dedicated to the sale of food in the perimeter, in the center there are some restaurants, large structures for the amusement of the little ones and a stage where guest artists perform on special dates.

Around the food fair are located the shops neatly placed in such a way that, as you walk, they appear one after the other, and if you walk all the way you will arrive back to where you started.

The aisles with white granite floors, together with the curved ceiling design, beautifully reflect the ceiling lights, which gives it a clean and pleasant feeling.

There is a straight section in the design of the mall that corresponds to the shape of the fingerboard of the cuatro. For those who are not familiar with this instrument, the fingerboard is the straight part where the frets are located that allow the musician to control the tones with the fingers on the four strings.

This straight section begins with an area where several restaurants are located and the corridor has a floating floor covering of polished wood. There are also several fountains that give a colorful and pleasant aspect to the whole environment.

From there begins the other section of the shopping center where there are shops, pharmacies, cinema among others and that is the last part of the building.

In each section there are five exits that lead to the parking lot in places called north, south, east, west and central plaza. There are escalators and the elevator to go down to the lower level where the parking lot is located.

Una visita al Centro Comercial Sambil en Barquisimeto

Saludos estimados amigos amantes de la arquitectura y el diseño, les deseo lo mejor en este lunes comienzo de la semana.

Hoy les comparto imágenes nocturnas del centro comercial Sambil ubicado en la ciudad de Barquisimeto, uno de los centros comerciales más llamativos en cuanto a diseño arquitectónico se refiere.

Hace unos días estuve visitándolo en compañía de mi esposa, pues fuimos a llevar a nuestra hija que iba a reunirse con sus compañeros de la universidad.

Ellos planearon hacer una reunión en ese sitio para disfrutar de las incidencias del juego se fútbol entre Venezuela y Uruguay, celebrando que recientemente ter.inaron el semestre y ahora están se vacaciones.
Mi esposa y yo aprovechamos la visita para hacer un recorrido por las tiendas. Tomar fotografías y disfrutar se un helado.

Este centro comercial tiene un diseño arquitectónico en forma del instrumento musical característico de la región: el cuatro.

En el centro destaca el diseño arquitectónico de la feria de la comida, cuyo llamativo techo está confeccionado por una estructura metálica en forma de columna vertebral sostenida por seis grandes mástiles metálicos de mas de 20 metros de altura. La cubierta de techo está confeccionada con una lona de textil que cubre toda el área y queda arropando los mástiles que salen de ella como lanzas punzantes, tal como se puede apreciar el la fotografía aérea.

Por la parte interna se puede ver la gran estructura metálica que atraviesa todo lo largo del área en forma de columna vertebral y que es la que ejerce la función de sostén de toda la estructura del techo.

Esa noche la feria de la comida estaba decorada con globos de colores que hacía un bonito efecto decorativo en el interior del techo. Allí se encuentran en el perímetro varios locales comerciales dedicados a la venta de comida, en el centro existen algunos restaurantes, grandes estructuras para la diversión de los pequeños y una tarima donde se presentan los artistas invitados en fechas especiales.

Alrededor de la feria de comida se ubican los locales comerciales ordenadamente colocados de tal manera que, al caminar van apareciendo uno tras otro, y si caminas todo el recorrido vas a llegar nuevamente al sitio donde comenzaste.

Los pasillos con piso de granito blanco, conjuntamente con el diseño curvo del techo, reflejan hermosamente las luminarias del techo, lo cual le da una sensación de limpieza y agradable vista.

Existe un tramo recto en el diseño del centro comercial que corresponde a la forma del diapasón del cuatro. Para los que no conocen este instrumento, el diapasón es la parte recta donde están ubicados los trastes que permiten al músico controlar los tonos con los dedos sobre las cuatro cuerdas.

Este tramo recto inicia con una zona donde están ubicados varios restaurantes y el pasillo tiene un recubrimiento de piso flotante de madera pulida. Además allí se ubican varias fuentes que le dan un colorido y un agradable aspecto a todo el ambiente.

A partir de allí comienza el otro tramo del centro comercial donde se encuentran locales comerciales, farmacias, cine entre otros y que constituye la ultima parte de la edificación.

En cada tramo existen cinco salidas que conducen al estacionamiento en lugares llamados plaza norte, sur, este, oeste y central. Allí se encuentran las escalera eléctricas y el ascensor para bajar al nivel inferior donde se encuentra el estacionamiento.
