Getting to know the Oblate Sisters' convent / Conociendo el Convento de las hermanas Oblatas en Cabudare-Venezuela

Greetings dear friends of the @architecture-design community, I wish you the best on this Thursday with health and wellness.
Today I want to share with you images of the residence of the Oblate Sisters of Cabudare, which I took recently when I attended with my wife to a spiritual retreat for Lent.

Hoy les quiero compartir imágenes de la residencia de la hermanas oblatas de Cabudare, que tomé recientemente cuando asistí junto a mi esposa a un retiro espiritual de cuaresma.

The Oblate Sisters are nuns belonging to the Redemptorist Missionaries congregation and have the difficult mission of rescuing women engaged in prostitution.

This convent is used by the Redemptorists for spiritual retreats for the parish apostolate groups and they only ask for collaboration to use the facilities.

Las hermanas oblatas son religiosas pertenecientes a la congregación de los Misioneros Redentoristas y tienen la difícil misión de rescatar a las mujeres que se dedican a la prostitución.
Este convento es utilizado por los Redentoristas para hacer retiros espirituales a los grupos de apostolado de la parroquia y solo piden una colaboración para usar sus instalaciones.

While I was there I took several pictures of the facades, gardens and walkways, but as you can imagine, it was impossible for me to photograph the inside because it is an exclusive environment for the sisters.

The residence is built in the middle of a large area of land and consists of two one-story buildings, built with reinforced concrete structure in columns and beams and roof of platabanda covered with Creole tile.

Al estar allá tomé varias fotografías de las fachadas, jardines y caminerias, pero como se imaginarán, me fue imposible fotografiar la parte interna por ser un ambiente exclusivo de las hermanas.
La residencia está construida en medio de una extensa área de terreno y consta de dos edificios de una sola planta, edificados con estructura de concreto armado en columnas y vigas y techo de platabanda recubierto con teja criolla

All its facades are covered with red shingles. Doors and windows are covered with black metal protectors.

The floor is white granite and has gardens with flowers and fruit trees that make the environment the perfect place to get away from the busy world and undergo a deep and restorative personal reflection.

Todas sus fachadas están recubiertas con tablilla roja. Con puertas y ventanas cubiertas con protectores metálicos color negro.
El piso es de granito blanco y posee jardines con flores y árboles frutales que hacen del ambiente el sitio perfecto para apartarse del ajetreado mundo y someterse a una profunda y reparadora reflexión personal.

Inside the facilities there is a small churuata or hut built with a metal structure and a dome-shaped roof with a geometric design, with tongue and groove roofing and Creole tile roofing. The floor is made of caico and has ocncrete benches around its perimeter to

It is precisely there where the meetings, events or spiritual retreats of the religious community take place, because it offers a very fresh atmosphere due to the breeze and the beautiful landscape formed by the trees and flowering plants.

Dentro de las instalaciones se encuentra una pequeña churuata o bohío construido con estructura metálica y techo en forma de cúpula con diseño geométrico, con cubierta de machihembrado y teja criolla. El piso es de caico y posee bancos de ocncreto alrededor de su perímetro para
Allí precisamente es donde se llevan a cabo las reuniones, eventos o retiros espirituales de la comunidad religiosa, porque ofrece un ambiente muy fresco por la brisa y por el bonito paisaje que forman los árboles y las plantas floridas.

When a retreat is held there, the speaker, after giving the talk or teaching, sends the attendees to perform spiritual exercises in any part of the residence. Some choose a place under the trees, others in the garden chairs, or any space that allows them to have that intimacy with themselves and with nature.

Cuando se hace allí un retiro, el ponente luego de dar la charla o enseñanza, envía a los asistentes a realizar ejercicios espirituales en cualquier parte de la residencia. algunos escogen un sitio debajo de los árboles, otros en las sillas del jardín, o cualquier espacio que les permita tener esa intimidad consigo mismo y con la naturaleza.

At the back there is a basketball court for sports and recreation that is surrounded by large mango trees that provide plenty of shade, however this space is no longer used by the sisters for sports because they are elderly women, they only use it to walk and do some exercise.

It also has a parking space for approximately 8 vehicles, enough for a small group of people. On this occasion, most of the attendees were transported in a rented bus.

Al fondo existe una cancha de basketball destinada al deporte y la recreación que se encuentra rodeada de grandes árboles de mango que le dan mucha sombra, sin embargo este espacio ya no es utilizado por las hermanas para el deporte porque son mujeres de edad avanzada, solo lo utilizan para caminar y hacer algo de ejercicio.
Posee también un espacio para estacionamiento de aproximadamente 8 vehículos, suficientes para un grupo pequeño de personas. En esa oportunidad la mayoría de los asistentes se trasladaron en un autobús alquilado.

In short, this convent is only used for meetings and retreats promoted by the church and the attendees contribute with a small economic collaboration for the maintenance of the facilities. It is a very pleasant experience to share with people this kind of events because they help the spiritual enrichment of people.

En resumen, este convento solo es utilizado para reuniones y retiros promovidos por la iglesia y los asistentes contribuyen con una pequeña colaboración económica para el mantenimiento de las instalaciones. Es una experiencia muy agradable compartir con las personas este tipo de eventos porque ayudan al enriquecimiento espiritual de las personas.
