Hello, dear friends!
I haven't written to our community for a long time. Because since May, I live mainly in the village, in the realm of wild nature, where there is very little civilization and, accordingly, architecture.
But recently, as I already wrote, I spent a week in a very beautiful and very old city of Krakow, Poland. This city is forever in my heart and to be honest I want to go there again!!! For me, the way to communicate with the city is to look at the architecture. That is why I sometimes broke away from my friends and wandered alone through the ancient streets and entered Gothic temples that beckoned with their grandeur.

Я давненько не писала у нашу спільноту. А все тому що починаючи з травня я живу переважно в селі, у царстві дикої природи, де зовсім мало цивілізації та відповідно архітектури.
Та нещодавно, як я вже писала, я провела тиждень у дуже гарно у і дуже давньому місті, а саме у Кракові, Польща. Це місто назавжди у моєму серці і якщо чесно я знову хочу туди поїхати!!! Для мене способом спілкування з містом є огляд архітектури. Саме тому я часом відривалась від друзів і бродила сама старовинними вуличками та заходила у готичні храми, що манять своєю величчю.
Another time we will travel to the distant past, and today I will tell you about my... home. I mean a temporary home, because with the help of friends we managed to find a wonderful cozy hotel INX, where we spent this week. For me, the main criterion for any home is coziness and minimal comfort.
To be honest, I thought that we would either live in a hostel or in a refugee center in general, but fate led us here. We walked from the station along a beautiful street called Starovislna (because the Vistula River once flowed here, which later changed its course).
Part of the street arose at the end of the 19th century and we can admire the houses in the historicist style and the trams that go one with the other. By the way, this is a visiting card of Krakow, because there are no buses in the old part of the city at all! And some trams are so long, with three carriages coupled together.
However, we are walking today. By the way, our hotel is about 1.6 km from the city center (in a straight line, so it is difficult to get lost), so in the first days we walked a lot to save money.
Іншим разом ми помандруємо в далеке минуле, а сьогодні розповім вам про мій... дім. Я маю на увазі тимчасовий дім, адже з допомогою друзів нам вдалося знайти чудовий затишний готель INX, де ми провели цей тиждень. До речі, ви задумувались, як швидко людина починає називати домом всілякі тимчасові помешкання? Принаймні у мене так. Для мене головним критерієм будь-якого житла є затишок і мінімальний комфорт.
Якщо чесно, я думала, що ми будемо жити або в хостелі або взагалі у центрі біженців, але доля повела нас сюди. По гарній вулиці, що зветься Старовісльна (тому що колись тут протікала ріка Вісла, що потім змінила русло). Частина вулиці виникла десь наприкінці 19 століття і ми можемо милуватися будинками у стилі історизму. А також трамваями, що їдуть один з другим. Це до речі візитна картка Кракова, адже у старій частині міста взагалі не їздять автобуси! А трамваї бувають довжелезні, по три вагони зчіплені докупи. Маршрути прокладені грамотно і людям комфортно.
То проте ми сьогодні йдемо пішки. До речі, до нашого готелю від центру міста десь 1,6 км, тому в перші дні ми багато ходили пішки, щоб зекономити.
Hotel INX, my first impression
Another part of Starovislna Street appeared after 1913, when a new bridge was built across the river. Then there were 4-story buildings based on functionalism. I think the building of the INX hotel is either renovated or built in modern times on the site of the old one, but it fits in nicely with the surrounding space.
We were tired from the road, so at first we just admired everything around us, and take photos on other days. Our attention was drawn to the bright vases with flowers at the entrance. They refreshed and complemented the gray facade of the hotel. The next day, an old car appeared from somewhere, which seemed to be calling to take a picture with it!
Інша частина вулиці Старовісльної з'явилась після 1913, коли побудували новий міст через річку. Тоді з'явилися скромні по оздобленню 4 поверхові доми (мабуть у стилі функціоналізму). Будинок готелю INX є або відреставрований, або збудований у наш час на місці старого, але він гарно вписується у навколишній простір.
Ми були втомлені з дороги, то ж спочатку просто усім милувалися, а фото робити в інші дні. Одразу нашу увагу привернули яскраві вазонки з квітами при вході. Вони освіжали і доповнювали трошки нудний фасад готелю. На наступний день звідкись з'явилося старовинне авто, що ніби кликало сфотографуватися з ним!

The hotel hall is small, but cozy and divided into several zones. We find ourselves in the kingdom of mirrors, and in the following rooms this feeling only intensifies. Mirrored walls, ceilings, mirror panels of amazing shape, which look like precious stones, were a little confusing at first. Our friend who came to visit said that it was too much for him and it was spinning in his head:) Modern light furniture and mirrors were quite organically combined with old things, such as a clock with a pendulum, a phonograph or an interesting color picture, which probably depicts hunting. I was interested in this painting, perhaps it contains some folk legend or fairy tale.
Хол готелю невеликий, але затишний і поділений на кілька зон. Вже тут ми опиняємося у царстві дзеркал, а в наступних приміщеннях це відчуття лише посилюється. Дзеркальні стіни, стелі, дивовижної форми панно, що схожі на дорогоцінні камені спочатку трошки збивали з пантелику. Наш знайомий, що зайшов в гості сказав, що для нього це занадто і крутиться в голові:) Сучасні світлі меблі та дзеркала досить органічно поєднались із старими речами, як от годинник з маятником, патифон чи цікава кольорова картина, яка мабуть зображає полювання.
Ця картина мене зацікавила, можливо у ній закладено якусь народну легенду чи казку.
Our room
Our room belonged to the economy class and contained two separate beds (I was with my friend) and a bathroom. It was a small, but competently decorated room. A few mirrors created a sense of space, the soft wall behind the bed probably performs not only an aesthetic, but also a practical function of soundproofing. There was plenty of space in the compartment closet. And there was a small corner for coffee/tea. Of course, this room is not a place for active eating:) There is a cafe and a restaurant in the hotel. However, an electric kettle, two cups and glasses came in handy for evening snacks (breakfast was included in the price of accommodation).
And a comfortable soft chair, sitting on which you can look out into the street. The furniture and the room were in gray and white tones, but the comfortable carpet attracted attention with a colorful abstract pattern.
The bathroom is in dark colors, everything around is beautiful and new.
Наш номер належав до економ класу і містив два окремих спальних місця (я поїхала з подругою) і санвузол. Це був невелика, але грамотно оформлена кімната. Кілька дзеркал створювали відчуття простору, м'яка стінка за ліжком мабуть виконує не лише естетичну, але і практичну функцію звукоізоляції. У шафі купе було вдосталь місця. І маленький куточок для кави/чаю. Це для нас дуже важливо:) Звісно ця кімната не місце для активного поїдання їжі:) До цього є кафе та ресторан у готелі. Проте електрочайник, дві охайні чашки і склянки стали нам у пригоді для вечірніх перекусів (сніданок входив у вартість проживання).
І зручне м'яке крісло, сидячи на якому можна виглядати на вулицю. Меблі та кімната були у сіро-білих тонах, зате комфортний килим привертав увагу кольоровим абстрактним візерунком.
Ванна кімната у темних тонах, все навколо красиве і нове.
The corridor of this hotel has a very soft floor covering (this also probably helps with sound insulation. Surprisingly, we did not hear our neighbors at all during the whole day, except for the noise of traffic and trams from the street. We could close the window and turn on the air conditioner, but it was dangerous for me because of health problems!).
We were particularly pleased with the elevator completely with mirror walls, unfortunately we quickly went down from the 1st floor to the 0th floor:) It is a bit of a whimsical feeling, but you can look at yourself from all angles and see all the pros and cons of your figure or clothes. So, this elevator will make you improve!!!
У коридорі цього готелю дуже м'яке покриття підлоги (це теж мабуть сприяє звукоізоляції. Дивовижно, ми взагалі не чули своїх сусідів за всі дні, хіба що з вулиці було чути шум транспорту і трамваїв. Ми могли зачинити вікно і ввімкнути кондиціонер, але для мене це було небезпечно через глюки зі здоров'ям!!!).
Ліфт повністю з дзеркальними стінами особливо нас радував, жаль ми недовго ним їздили, лише з 1 на 0 поверх:) Трохи химерне відчуття, але можна оглянути себе з усіх ракурсів та побачити всі плюси і мінуси своєї фігури або одягу. Отак, цей ліфт змусить вас вдосконалюватись!!!
Dining room and rest room
The next morning we went to breakfast. I can note that there was also a harmonious atmosphere here. The dining hall is spacious, supported by several pillars. Tables and chairs are neat and comfortable. Oh, I love soft chairs!!! The main emphasis here is on the "brick" wall and several modern bright paintings. The food was tasty and varied, also beautifully decorated. Here we rested soul and body. In general, it is very difficult for me to get up in the morning and even more so to eat, so the first days I forced myself a little. However, I usually don't like to cook breakfast, but here they did it for me. How nice it is:)
Отож, ми були щасливими що опинилися тут. На наступний ранок ми пішли на сніданок. Можу відзначити, що тут теж панувала гармонійна обстановка. Зал їдальні просторий, опертий на кілька стовпів. Столики та стільці акуратні і комфортні. О, я любителів м'яких стільців!!! Мабуть, основний акцент тут на "цегляну" стіну та кілька сучасних яскравих картин. Їжа була смачна і різноманітна, також красиво оформлена. Тут ми відпочивали душею і тілом. Мені взагалі дуже складно вранці вставати і тим паче їсти, тому перші дні я себе трохи змушувала. Проте і готувати сніданок я зазвичай не люблю, а тут це робили замість мене. Як це приємно:)
By chance, I found another nice corner in the hall. At first, only two game consoles were visible, so I thought it was some kind of small room for fans of computer games.
However, while waiting for my friend, I walked further and saw the rest room. Colored chairs, funny like toy floor lamps and again this soft colored carpet.
In the corner is a small children's room.
In general, it was quiet and deserted. If we had more time, I would love to sit in this room, where it was moderately cool and where it would be convenient to even write something. But like that hamster, I wanted to capture more impressions from the charming streets of the city...
Therefore, we usually only spent the night in the hotel and cooled down a little during the heat.
Випадково я знайшла ще один гарний куточок у холі. Спочатку було видно лише дві ігрові приставки, отож я думала що це якесь маленьке приміщення для прихильників комп'ютерних ігор. Проте, чекаючи подругу, я пройшла далі і побачила кімнату відпочинку. Кольорові стільці, веселі ніби іграшкові торшери, і знову цей м'який кольоровий килим.
У куточку — невелика дитяча кімната.
Загалом тут було тихо і безлюдно. Якщо б у нас було більше часу я б залюбки посиділа у цій кімнаті, де панувала помірна прохолода і де було б зручно навіть щось писати. Але наче той хом'як, я хотіла захопити побільше вражень від чарівних вулиць міста...
Тому в готелі ми зазвичай лише ночували і трішки охолоджувались у час спеки.
Would I like to come back here to the INX Hotel? Yes, of course.
The main role of design in general is not to impress or stun (well, except a little), but to create coziness. In this case, the designers coped with this task. I prefer everything vintage and even very vintage, but I felt comfortable here!

Чи хотіла б я повернутися сюди, в готель INX? Так.
Головна роль дизайну взагалі — не вразити чи приголомшити (ну хіба що трохи), а створити затишок. В даному випадку дизайнери з цим завданням впоралися. Хоча, на колір і смак товариш не всяк. Я люблю більше все старовинне і навіть дууууже старовинне, проте мені було тут комфортно!
