Hello again Archi enthusiasts!👋
More Balcony update & A Coffee station
This week, I am continuing working on my balcony and setting up a coffee station. It has been quite long overdue since the last time I made the first move on it as well as adding one more commitment.
It's also taking time because I only work on it on the weekend, which is Saturday and Sunday. I might have talked about my plan of the balcony but essentially,it is to provide more green space in my home as well as my neighborhood. I think we lack of greenery to look at and this space hopefully provides more aesthetically pleasing greenery to enjoy everyday.
If you remember, about two weeks ago, my space was looking like this as the thumbnail in the post below Revitalizing Tropical Living Spaces - Renovating an old abandoned balcony .There are some progress that I made which is moving some of the plants and keep the ones that is more fitting for my balcony.
The progress
There were still some pots that are empty. They will be used for new plants that I am going to have in the balcony. At the same time, I also managed to cut all the wires in my balcony and now the place is free to roam around. While the ceramics is almost difficult to safe, I plan on to just cover them with DIY tiles and it's a lot cheaper than having to actually replace all the ceramics around it. In my previous post, I tried cleaning it but that was difficult to do and the stains are all still there. So, it's definitely best to just let them be and cover it up with wooden DIY tiles.
Moving that pot from above the rail and getting down was a hell lot of work. It was darn heavy and I was afraid that it would fall down. Thankfully, it is safe and secure and I'll work on it so that it looks a lot healthier than what it is now.
Instead of that big pot that was on that corner, I replaced it with two adenium. My house has a lot of them that are unkempt and I plan to research on how to take care of them and how to beautify the flower. Sometimes it blooms but most of the time, because they aren't being properly taken care of, they grow that tall and shapeless. I think adenium is perfect if you rarely water down your plants, they require very minimal care.
As you can also see above, the place needs repainting. I am not going to change a lot of its model because it's already looking good. The only thing that needs to do is repainting. For now, I am using also using that type of chair but in the future, I'd like to change it to something more fitting for the area.
Below are the pots that I will be using to plan more things. this exact spot is perfect for bigger pots but for now, I am using them to store pots. I am trying not to purchase new equipment too much but would rather use and salvage anything that can be used.
As I was resting from moving the pot and cleaning the area, I saw this bird perched on the wires. I normally see them a lot and it's always fun to see. I wonder though, if my balcony is full of flower, will they come visit?
There is also this huge trees that sways especially during windy months. Birds also hide there and that is the source of chirping from my room. It's really nice to hear sometimes especially during the afternoon. This is how it looks during months like June-July. I remember it was cut short at some point but now it's back again and getting really tall.
Coffee Station
It has been a dream of mine to actually have this spot. A few years ago, I was hoping there would be a space for me to have all of my coffee tools together in the same spot and I did it now. I am currently using the table that I used to work from the second floor. Since now I have a new one, the table finds its new use, to be the place where I put all my coffee equipment. In the future if I'll have espresso machine, I'd still be using this table. The table is located in between the fridge and dining area where I can get access to ice cubes easily too. At the moment, the cover looks tacky but that can be fixed once I got the new table cover and properly wrapping the table.
As I am going a lot less to cafe, I am really happy to have this dedicated space. In fact, these days I hardly find myself wanting to visit a cafe just because they have the same aesthetic and sometimes, some places have inconsistent taste. So, why not just have them at home and make it just the way I like it to be?
There are some items that are left out and needs to be placed elsewhere in above table but that was the idea, roughly having an exact spot to store my coffee and matcha needs. In the past, I was putting them on the dining table and that sometimes make it difficult to reach because our table is quite big and also facing the wall. There's only two ways to go around it and with this area, it certainly helps. While it might not look as pleasing as pinterest, it definitely does the job.
I remember saying that I am going to repaint the balcony and now it's definitely on-progress and matches my own estimation. I am still conflicted whether I should do it or have someone doing it because some areas are a little tricky to do. Hopefully, in next two weeks, this area will be transformed into a refreshing place to be. Anyway, see you in my next make over progress.
