Un poquito de Roma en Caracas - Basílica en Honor a San Pedro Apóstol 📸 ⛪️

Hola Comunidad, paso por aquí para saludar y para darle a cada uno de ustedes un caluroso abrazo espiritual cargado de bendiciones, energía positiva y mucha luz; además, pido a Dios que usted viva feliz y con mejor calidad de vida, acompañado de buena salud y prosperidad. En esta publicación les presentaré uno de los templos católicos mas bonito de la ciudad de Caracas, Capital de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela. Espero que este Post sea de su agrado.

Before presenting the reason for today's publication, I must inform you that last Sunday, February 27, my beloved wife and my son visited the city of Caracas and on their way they were in three Catholic temples, sacred places that also, on previous occasions, , I have visited. I have mentioned the three temples in other publications, but because of Covid19 the times I visited them they were closed, this time my wife and son found them open and they were able to enter and take pictures inside.

Antes de presentarles el motivo de la publicación de hoy debo informarles que el pasado domingo 27 de febrero, mi amada esposa y mi hijo, visitaron la ciudad de Caracas y en su recorrido estuvieron en tres templos católicos, lugares sagrados que también, en anteriores ocasiones, he visitado. Los tres templos los he mencionado en otras publicaciones, pero por causa del Covid19 las veces que los visité estaban cerrados, esta vez mi esposa y mi hijo los encontraron abiertos y pudieron entrar y tomar fotografías en su interior.

I visited two of those temples, along with my beloved wife, on Saturday, September 18, 2021, I mentioned those temples in a publication entitled: Basilica in Honor of San Pedro Apóstol. Caracas - Venezuela I remember that on that occasion, referring to the temple which I will refer to today, I wrote the following, I quote:

This beautiful catholic temple is a copy of Saint Peter's Basilica found in the famous Vatican City, of course this religious construction was made in smaller proportions, unlike the Vatican Basilica.

The Basilica in Honor of San Pedro Apóstol, cataloged as a minor basilica, is located at the end of Isaías Medina Angarita Avenue with Universidad Avenue, in the San Pedro Parish, Los Chaguaramos de Caracas urbanization. The Basilica was solemnly inaugurated on June 29, 1959.

Dos de esos templos los visité, junto a mi amada esposa, el sábado 18 de septiembre de pasado año 2021, esos templos los mencioné en una publicación titulada: Basílica en Honor a San Pedro Apóstol. Caracas - Venezuela Recuerdo que en esa oportunidad, refiriéndome al templo del cual haré referencia el día de hoy, escribí lo siguiente, cito:

Este hermoso templo católico es una copia de la Basílica de San Pedro que se encuentra en la famosa ciudad del Vaticano, por supuesto esta construcción religiosa fue hecha en proporciones menores, a diferencia de la basílica del Vaticano.

La Basílica en Honor a San Pedro Apóstol, catalogada como basílica menor, está ubicada al final de la avenida Isaías Medina Angarita con avenida Universidad, en la Parroquia San Pedro, Urbanización los Chaguaramos de Caracas. La Basílica fue solemnemente inaugurada el 29 de junio de 1959.

Thanks to the intervention of His Excellency Cardinal Giovanni Battista Montini, who later became Pope Paul VI, the 262nd Pope of the Catholic Church from June 21, 1963 until his death on August 6, 1978, canonized by Francis in the year 2018; the plans of the basilica in honor of San Pedro Apóstol de Caracas were made

The project was carried out by Professor Mario or Marcos Redimi, a Roman architect and engineer, who was also kind enough to donate said project, only charging the cost of the work of the draftsmen of the plans.

Gracias a la intervención de Su Excelencia el Cardenal Giovanni Battista Montini, quien mas tarde se convertiría en el Papa Pablo VI, Papa 262º de la Iglesia católica desde el 21 de junio de 1963 hasta su muerte el 6 de agosto de 1978, canonizado por Francisco en el año 2018; se realizaron los planos de la basílica en Honor a San Pedro Apóstol de Caracas

El proyecto lo hizo el profesor Mario o Marcos Redimi, arquitecto e ingeniero romano, quien además, tuvo la gentileza de donar dicho proyecto, únicamente cobró el costo del trabajo de los dibujantes de los planos.

The Basilica was conceived as a monumental work whose dome should be seen from anywhere in the city of Caracas. The design reveals its Greek cross shape, composed of a rotunda covered by a dome, a central nave and two side naves. Its structure is made of reinforced concrete, it has brick walls and very beautiful travertine marble cladding that makes it look elegant and artistically precious.

La Basílica fue concebida como una obra monumental cuya cúpula debía ser vista desde cualquier punto de la ciudad de Caracas. El diseño deja ver su forma de cruz griega, compuesta de una rotonda cubierta por una cúpula, una nave central y dos laterales. Su estructura es de concreto armado, posee muros de ladrillo y revestimiento de mármol travertino muy bonito que la hace lucir elegante y artísticamente preciosa.

Five months ago, when I published the facade of this beautiful Church, I wrote the following:

On the façade there are three sculptures that represent the Catholic images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Virgin Mary and Saint Peter, a name that honors the temple. The altars of the temple date from 1701 and come from the Convent of the Visitation of Santa María de las Salesas de San Remo located in Italy.

This time you will be able to see the splendor of this beautiful Church, because my wife and my son were able to take several photographic shots that demonstrate what I am describing.

Hace cinco meses, cuando publiqué la fachada de esta hermosa Iglesia, escribí lo siguiente:

En la fachada hay tres esculturas que representan las imágenes católicas del Sagrado corazón de Jesús, la Virgen María y San Pedro, nombre que hace honor al templo. Los altares del templo datan de 1701 y provienen del Convento de la Visitación de Santa María de las Salesas de San Remo ubicado en Italia.

Esta vez ustedes van a poder ver el esplendor de esta bella Iglesia, porque mi esposa y mi hijo pudieron hacer varias tomas fotográficas que demuestran lo que les estoy describiendo.

The Basilica of San Pedro Apóstol in Caracas is in the style neo-Renaissance, trend that developed from the nineteenth century, parallel to neoclassicism and to the Neo-Gothic, resuming the formal apparatus of Renaissance architecture.

La Basílica de San Pedro Apóstol de Caracas es de estilo neo renacentista, corriente que se desarrolló a partir del siglo XIX, paralela al neoclasicismo y al neogótico, reanudando el aparato formal de la arquitectura renacentista.
