Before this post, I have posted twice about traditional Acehnese houses in this community. and today I will share another traditional aceh house, this time the aceh traditional house that I share is a house in a different context, namely the Miatur house of the Aceh sultanate. I found this Aceh sultanate house when I visited the forest city of Langsa, Aceh. This Aceh sultanate house is very magnificent, this house has a unique design, slightly complicated ornaments, natural brown color selection like the color of a tree, and has other uniqueness which I will discuss one by one.
This house consists of two floors, the first floor is a floor without borders, this floor contains a chair made of teak wood with full carvings on the head of the chair. The carving adds to the presence of the chair even though this chair is painted in brown as if it has no color. This chair may have been used by the sultan to rule or see firsthand the traditional tools of war in ancient times. Because not far from this chair, we can see the cannon that is no longer used and is already porous. There are also tools that I don't know the name of, but these are like a mortar for pounding rice. Or maybe this is one of the game tools that are here, there is no clear information when I was there.
On the first floor there is also a bed which is also made of wood with carvings that are still the same as the house and chairs that surround it with the same dominance of paint. This bed without a mattress serves as a place to relax and rest during the day, this bed was intentionally made on the first floor because the goal is to relax and feel the breeze blowing, when I try to sit on this bed I also feel sleepy because the wind that came straight into my eyes made my eyes heavy. And one thing that I almost forgot, outside this first floor, we can also find a water jug large enough that serves to collect rainwater, or well water before the host or guest enters the house, we can wash our feet here.
And when I went up to the 2nd floor I found a chair with a similar material, namely from real teak wood. Although the wooden cushions were slightly damaged, the frame of the chair was still very strong. I really like the carving of this chair, it's classic, unique, has its own complexity and of course has its own class too. Chairs on the second floor overlook the garden and other buildings. When we look up at the building, it turns out that this building is still made of 100 percent palm tree leaves, and is still awake until now, maybe because there are no nosy visitors to touch the walls of this house.
The carvings carved on the walls, chairs and beds on the first floor also have their own level of complexity and also have their respective meanings. The ornaments that are made also have an important meaning for the culture of Aceh itself. And around the house also has a small forest as a complement to the scenery. It's perfect for homes where owners need to take a break from uncontrollable modernization.
okay until here my post. I hope you enjoy and I hope you like it. see you in my next post. greetings from me Maytom or Maya and Tomi from Binjai Indonesia.
