Hi HIVe friends who are in this community, this is a great community that when I want to share something here I really have to think because I have limited knowledge about buildings, I will not say that this is not my field but I realize that I have never I want to learn about this architecture so I feel stupid myself..he..he. and I am aware of this, so how do people who are involved in building a magnificent building know that it is not only the architect who must be responsible, but there are also several areas that handle this so that a building stands firmly in accordance with its purpose, function and his strength.
According to Vitruvius, good architecture must fulfill 3 principles, namely Venustas, Firmitas and utility, all of which describe architecture and structure which must all complement each other and we cannot eliminate one of these elements when building a building. As happened at the Al Ikhlas Tebing Tinggi mosque. The magnificent mosque is the icon of this city and I have often visited it with my husband as a resting place for us. If we go on a long journey and pass through this city, we will definitely stop to rest.
This mosque is very magnificent, but this mosque is still very young. It is less than 10 years old since the founding of this mosque and it started from the initial foundations. If you look from a distance, this grey-white mosque is very majestic, has quite a large parking area and a large library with a cool building located next to the mosque, making anyone very amazed by the beauty of this mosque.
The abstract carvings on each pillar of the mosque which are colored gray make the building even more majestic. The reliefs near the top window with window motifs adapted from the Middle East and a combination of designs between local customs and several adaptations from several countries make this mosque very majestic when seen from afar and anyone wants to visit this mosque, but whether do you know what I found? And I was quite surprised by this considering the age of this mosque which is still relatively new.
The things I found were:
1. Cracks in the pole
From the pillars of this mosque, I saw that all of them had cracks, some were even worse and the cracks reached all the way around the pillars, as if there had been an earthquake even though there had never been an earthquake in this city, and if these pillars were left untreated, would they harm visitors? ? Hopefully there will be attention for the people responsible for this mosque.
2. Ceramics that have started to lift or break
You can judge for yourself the ceramics installed, it looks like a building that is decades old and has not been maintained, and the raindrops that hit the ceramics also look like they haven't been cleaned for a long time so the ceramics are black due to moss sticking to them.
3. The roofs on the sides of the mosque are experiencing a lot of leaks
And when I looked at the roof there were several mosque roofs that were leaking and maybe because this had been going on for quite a long time it also had an impact on the ceramics underneath.
4. The window glass is starting to break
From afar, the windows with a pyramid-like design look very sturdy, but who would have thought that one of the windows was broken and I don't know what the reason for this breaking was because the window is right under the roof as an accessory design too.
Who do you think is to blame for this? It is truly a shame that this building with an architectural design that can be said to be luxurious and magnificent is marred by many small damages - small damages which, if left unchecked, will spread to other elements, making maintenance costs that should be controlled become quite wild costs later due to the large number of repairs. So the next question is how many years it will take for this building to experience depreciation due to the damage that has occurred to this mosque. it's really very disappointing. The parties involved in the construction of this mosque should not only talk about the magnificent design, the costs involved, but should also be able to talk about the strength of the mosque so that it can last longer. And this applies to any building, not just this mosque too
