Hi everybody. How are you? I hope you're okay. I once visited a very famous village in West Java. The name of this place is Kampung Naga, this place is located in Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java. This place is very interesting for many tourists in Indonesia because, there is history in this village. This village is connected to one of the kingdoms in West Java.
In this place it is believed that traditional leaders are believed to be descendants of Prince Singaparna, the commander of the Timbang Anten Kingdom. At that time, the king of the Timbang Anten kingdom was King Wangsadikarya. King Wangsadikarya is a descendant of King Pajajaran from King Surawisesa. While Prince Singaparna is known as a wise and wise person.
In fact, some royal relics are stored in the Ageung House. This place is very far from the city center. in this place there are rice fields, ponds, and others. Very close to nature. This dragon village strongly maintains a natural lifestyle, social justice to the economy. I really like this village. but, not necessarily I'm ready to live in this place. When I visited this place, hearing the history of the place, it gave me goosebumps.
Kampung Naga is located between cliffs which causes the position of the house to have a different height. There is something unique in this village, all the houses here have the same architectural form and design. In fact, for families who will build houses here, residents help each other. In Indonesia, it is known as the Gotong Royong culture. For the construction of this house using natural materials. Everything is taken from the surrounding forest. I think this is very unique.
Before entering the architecture of this place, I would like to mention that this place has no electricity. No television, cell phone and other electronics. I thought, I definitely wouldn't be able to stay here. I work have to use a lot of electronic equipment. For lighting, this place still uses traditional lamp lighting, which is kerosene fuel. for the night, the lighting of the house here uses a cempor (a traditional West Javanese lighting tool). During the day, this place uses natural light, namely the sun.
In this place, there are 113 houses and 113 families. There is a lot of uniqueness in this place. First, in one house, there can only be one head of the family. If any family got married, they had to get out of this place. For home ownership, this house is passed down from generation to generation to the eldest daughter. For the construction of this house, the house must face north and south.
For the design and architecture of this house, I think it is very unique. Each house has only four rooms. First, the front room is considered a terrace, then the side room is called Pangkeng. This side room serves as a bedroom. Then, the living room is made for family gatherings. Finally, the back of the house, for the back of the house which is used for the kitchen and food storage room.
Every house here does not have a door facing the other side. It was because of the tradition in this place, even to make this house very simple. Just need wood and bamboo. For the roof, only eurih leaves and tips are used which are covered with injuk. The whole building of this house comes from natural weight which is very light and elastic.
So, the building does not feel heavy. This is the reason why it is a strong reason if this house is earthquake resistant. For the shape of the roof, this house in this village has a roof that rises up and down. This form is a roof shape that has a width on both sides resembling the wings of a Julang bird. This house is believed to be an earthquake-resistant house.
