This week, I visited one of the most famous cities in Indonesia. Semarang, I visited this city. This is my third visit here but I haven't been to any places with history. This visit was meant for a two day business trip, but I continued my vacation. I spent my weekend here.
I think this mosque is the biggest mosque I have ever visited. The facilities here are also very much. There is a library, auditorium, inn, wedding rooms, museum, cafe, and tower. Do I visit all? No, I don't think I have enough time to visit all the facilities in this mosque. I only make time to pray here.the name of this mosque is Masjid Agung of Central Java.
This mosque is certainly a symbol and religious tourism for the people of this city (Semarang) and of course Central Java. The mosque can accommodate 15,000 people for the outside. For the inside, can accommodate as many as 10,000 people. Can you imagine if this mosque is so big? I'm sure you can get lost in this place, if you don't have the map. What about me? Of course, I got lost in this mosque. There are only a few mosque men here. I hardly found room for prayer.
Immediately, you can confirm that the mosque has Javanese, Roman and Arabic architecture. At the bottom of the pole there is a batik motif which is a traditional art of Central Java. in the architecture of this mosque, to me it is an amazing mix of cultures. In addition, there is Arabic calligraphy which is also a Middle Eastern architectural culture on the walls of this mosque.
Among the mosques I have visited, this mosque is very close to Middle Eastern and Islamic architecture. There are two sentences of creed which are important for Muslims. In front of this mosque there is the Al-Husna Tower which is 99 meters high. It is also a symbol of Islam in this mosque.
What's in the tower? The tower has a radio on the first floor. To the museum on the 2nd and 3rd floors. And then to the 18th floor which I think is very unusual, it can rotate 360 degrees. The 19th floor used to be a viewing tower. You can see the city of Semarang from this tower. There are five binoculars that you can use to see the city of Semarang. From the information I got, the binoculars came from a boscha which is used for rukhiyat (seeing the star as a sign of the start of fasting for Muslims).
For some people, the architecture of this mosque is considered to use tectonic concepts. I mean it has an architectural style, which is similar to pre-Islamic buildings in Java. However, it is different from the Demak mosque. This tectonic building is an overlapping concept, as in the picture of the mosque that I took. I can not explain in detail, it is difficult to explain. However, based on the information I got, those details are characteristic of Java. In fact, it consists of buildings with traditional modern architecture. I think this is extraordinary.
This mosque is actually the oldest mosque in Semarang. Likewise, this mosque is the oldest mosque in Central Java. This mosque has a very long history of the founding of the city of Semarang. Furthermore, it was designated as a sanctuary in Indonesia. For the people of Semarang, this is something to be proud.
In the past, when Soekarno declared Indonesia's independence, this mosque was the only mosque that declared Indonesia's independence. I got goosebumps while typing this narration. As an Indonesian, I am proud. The mosque immediately announced Indonesia's independence to the congregation in the mosque. Then, in 1952 ir soekarnor (the first president of Indonesia) gave a speech, in recognition of the event. I am touched to type this information.
So tell me about this mosque. What do you think? Did you like about my story? I hope you like my story. If you like, wait for my other story. Thankyou. Greetings from Indonesia,
