Hello, architecture and travel fans. On our travels we always find many interesting architectural aspects. Including in the middle of the city which combines environmental sustainability.
Public spaces in the city center are my favorite for resting. Especially because of my job as a driver, I often enter public spaces to rest for a moment before continuing another journey.
The city park in the center of Medan City caught my attention. Called “TAMAN BERINGIN”. with the concept of preserving the environment. This city park looks like a forest filled with many large trees. That's why I call this park in the middle of the city "a little forest in the middle of the city".
In accordance with the name of this park, it is named beringin (in English: banyan) because this park has many large banyan trees. Especially in front of this park location.
Several pathways are formed with flower patterns. Meanwhile, other pathways generally use natural rocks to avoid the growth of fast-growing wild grass.
Even though it has several clean and safe pathways, I do not recommend this park as a jogging location because it is not long and wide enough. More suitable for sitting and relaxing in the morning or evening to just enjoy the view and fresh air.
A LARGE POND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GARDEN
One thing that attracts visitors at "TAMAN BERINGIN" is the presence of a large pool in the middle of the park. It is equipped with several fountains at several points where the pool is located so that this park looks really attractive.
The combination of various ornamental plants around the pool and garden makes this place feel even more calming. Several ornamental plants planted in pots are arranged neatly to maximize the space available at the edge of the pool, as well as as a fence to divide the pool.
On the other side of the pool, there is a space that can be used for art performances, with lots of seating space and a well-arranged stage space.
UNIQUE DESIGN
This park is designed for the preservation of a beautiful environment. Apart from that, it has many interesting space designs to make visitors like to come back to this place.
Several spaces were designed with attractive structural layouts and good, multi-functional layouts.
There is a long seat that has 3 shapes of love as the back of the seat. This design looks cool for visitors who want to capture photos at this location.
Next there is a hallway with the right and left pillars colored in bright colors. These colors remind me of popular tourist locations in Japan.
Another pathway that leads visitors to the side of the park is also designed with pillars with good repetition. It is also used multi-functionally as a support for the vines there. This supports the increasingly pronounced green aspect vibes.
In the middle of the park there is space for a free public library (Indonesian: reading garden). What is interesting to me are several designs for plantter spaces placed on building walls.
With several circular shapes, planter areas look more artistic and beautiful to the eye.
Overall, “TAMAN BERINGIN” looks impressive with an environmentally sustainable design that is worthy of appreciation. It feels very calming with the fresh air that we can get in the middle of a busy city.
It's not just about a natural shady garden that feels like a forest. Many area decorations have been made attractive to make visitors, especially young people, more comfortable and happy in this park.
Hopefully this city park in the middle of Medan city can continue to be kept clean. I hope no naughty parties damage the decoration of this place.
Maintenance is needed, especially from the city government itself, to continue to improvise so that this city park becomes a favorite park for city residents.
Of course, as a green open space that is useful for calming the heart and mind without having to go far from the city. That's what urban communities need for comfortable and safe green public areas.
