Greetings lovers of architecture and design, I wish you are well, this time I want to share with you the Temple of San Jose in El Poblado here in Medellin, I remind you that I am one of those who admire the architecture of the temples but I do not like to visit them for fear of statues for worship. However in another publication I will give you a surprise, but for now I present the facades and exterior details of this beautiful brick temple that has a central location on El Poblado Avenue, standing out among the commercial buildings.
Saludos amantes de la arquitectura y el diseño, deseo es que estén bien, en esta oportunidad quiero compartirles el Templo de San José en El Poblado aquí en Medellín, les recuerdo que soy de los que admiro la arquitectura de los templos pero no me gusta visitarlos por temor a las estatuas para cultos. Sin embargo en otra publicación les daré una sorpresa, pero por ahora les presento las fachadas y los detalles exteriores de este bello templo de ladrillos que tiene una ubicación céntrica en la Av. El Poblado, destacándose entre los edificios comerciales.
The temple is in front of El Poblado Park and from there I could have it in front and take some pictures to appreciate its main facade and part of the left side facade that is not complete because it is between some stores.
El templo está frente al Parque El Poblado y desde allí pude tenerlo de frente y tomarle algunas fotos para apreciar su fachada principal y parte de la fachada lateral izquierda que no se ve completa porque está entre unas tiendas.
The right side façade has a shopping center next to it, which prevents us from appreciating that part of the temple.
La fachada lateral derecha tiene al lado un centro comercial impidiendo apreciar esa parte del templo.
But the view of this temple is equally enjoyable and look at its impressive eclectic style architecture. I confess that at first I thought that the style was colonial baroque, but it is easy to get confused when several styles are mixed as happens in eclecticism, but researching clears the doubts. The truth is that I loved this work of art in the heart of El Poblado Medellín. See the bell tower with the clock among the architectural elements that adorn it.
Pero igualmente la vista de este templo se disfruta y es que miren su impresionante arquitectura al estilo ecléctico. Confieso que al principio pensé en que el estilo era barroco colonial, pero es fácil confundirse cuando se mezclan varios estilos como sucede en el eclecticismo, pero investigando se aclaran la dudas. La verdad es que amé esta obra de arte en el corazón del El Poblado Medellín. Vean la torre del campanario con el reloj entre los elementos arquitectónicos que la adornan.
The arches are elements that stand out in this sacred catholic building.
Los arcos son elementos que destacan en este edificio sagrado católico.
The temple has wooden doors in perfect condition, noting the good care given to it.
El templo tiene puertas de madera en perfecto estado, notándose el buen cuidado que le dan.
The details of the doors are exquisite.
Los detalles de las puertas son exquisitos.
There are two marble plaques embedded in the front brick walls dedicated to the temple and its foundation.
Hay dos placas de mármol incrustadas en las paredes de ladrillo del frente dedicadas que dan honor a la templo y su fundación.
The cross as a symbol of Christianity is also represented in two concrete crosses embedded in the bricks.
También la cruz como símbolo del cristianismo está representada en dos cruces de concreto incrustadas en los ladrillos.
Who better to know the history of this temple than a Christian who frequents it.
Para conocer la historia de este templo quién mejor que un cristiano que lo frecuente.
If you get with a very faithful parishioner he will know that the temple of San Jose is considered cultural heritage of Medellin, for its history and aesthetic beauty. It turns out that this temple is a little over 400 years old and after some research I realized that this temple has a lot of history and importance in the founding of El Poblado in 1616, so this place has a lot of interesting history.
Si te consigues con un feligrés muy fiel el sabrá que el templo de San José es considerado patrimonio cultural de Medellín, por su historia y belleza estética. Resulta que este templo tiene un poco más de 400 años y es que luego de indagar me di cuenta que este templo tiene mucha trayectoria e importancia en la fundación de El Poblado en el año 1616, así que tiene mucha historia interesante este lugar.
I continue admiring and stop in front of the wrought iron trellis that faces the left side. They are strong and well-preserved railings.
Sigo admirando y me detengo frente al enrejado de hierro forjado que da al lateral izquierdo. Son rejas fuertes y bien conservadas.
Although the San José de El Poblado church is very well preserved, there is some damage to the lower part of the right lateral façade.
A pesar de estar muy bien conservado el templo San José de El Poblado hay cierto daño en la parte baja en la fachada lateral derecha.
But if I focus on it as a work of architectural art, I see the details that enhance it and therefore nothing can overshadow its beauty. The arches, lintels, windows, columns, doors, are elements that give it form and a beautiful appearance.
Pero si me concentro en ella como obra de arte arquitectónico veo los detalles que la realzan y por eso nada puede opacar su belleza. Los arcos, dinteles, ventanas, columnas, puertas, son elementos que le dan forma y una bella apariencia.
