The Caracas Blockchain Week is a meeting where conferences, activities, workshops and presentations of technology projects and share their uses, also to present innovations in this area, coworking and networking, each project has a booth where they inform the attendees of their product or service and of course our blockchain hive is always present and I attended.
This year the second CBW 2023 meeting was held at the headquarters of a prestigious university in Venezuela, the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, it is a private university of great extension that was inaugurated in 1965 in a 32 hectares land, it is my first time in this place and through this publication I will describe what my eyes could see and my mind perceive.
El Caracas Blockchain Week es un encuentro donde se realizan conferencias, actividades, talleres y presentaciones de proyectos tecnológicos y se comparten sus usos, también para presentar innovaciones en esta materia, hacer coworking y networking, cada proyecto tiene un stand donde informan a las personas asistentes de su producto o servicio y por supuesto nuestra blockchain hive siempre está presente y yo asistí.
Este año se realizó el segundo encuentro CBW 2023 en la sede de una prestigiosa universidad de Venezuela, la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, es una universidad es privada de gran extensión que se inauguró en 1965 en un terreno de 32 hectáreas, es mi primera vez en este lugar y a través de esta publicación describiré los que mis ojos pudieron ver y mi mente percibir.
It took us a few minutes to locate ourselves, I was coordinating the bus where all the hivers of Aragua state were going and we asked the address where the event was, this inside the university itself, we passed several parking lots that are guarded and we asked the same security employees about the specific place, until we found the Loyola center where the Aula Magna is located, the first impression I had was that it was huge and the gardens and green areas looked very nice and well kept, the main building is made of bare concrete with very high columns, it was impossible for me to have a proper shot among so many people where it looked complete, with a red terracotta floor, all around the entrance was the hive stand very striking with its representative red and white colors and after greeting those present I continued for the registration.
I will show the photos in the order that my eyes saw them, well the ones I selected for this publication, after reviewing some booth I went to one of the conference rooms, its immensity enveloped me, it had a wall of bricks and hollow blocks of natural red color, All carpeted floor and some walls with a gray and blue color that gave a lot of warmth, the seats were very comfortable blue with the design of a covered square inspired by the Roman theaters and the ceiling allows to move the lighting and change the decoration according to the event, in the auditorium has a giant screen and comfortable sofas for the panelists.
Nos costó algunos minutos ubicarnos, yo estaba coordinando el autobús donde iban todos los hivers del estado Aragua y preguntamos la dirección donde era evento, esto adentro de la misma universidad, pasamos varios estacionamientos que son vigilados y preguntamos a los mismos empleados de seguridad sobre el lugar específico, hasta que dimos con el centro Loyola donde está el Aula Magna, la primera impresión que tuve es que era enorme y los jardines y áreas verdes se veían muy lindos y bien cuidados, el edificio principal es de concreto desnudo con columnas muy altas, me fue imposible tener una toma adecuada entre tanta gente donde se viera completo, con un piso de terracota roja, en toda la entrada estaba el stand de hive muy llamativo con sus colores representativos rojo y blanco y después de saludar a los que están presente seguí para el registro.
Las fotos las mostraré en el orden que mis ojos las vieron, bueno las que seleccione para esta publicación, después de revisar algún stand me dirigí a una de las salas de conferencia, su inmensidad me arropo, tenía una pared de ladrillos y bloques huecos de color natural rojo, toda alfombrada el piso y algunas paredes con un color gris y azul que daba mucha calidez, sus butacas eran azules muy cómodas con el diseño de una plaza cubierta inspirado en los teatros romanos y el techo permite mover la iluminación y cambiar la decoración según el evento, en el auditorio posee una pantalla gigante y sofás cómodos para los panelistas.
On my way out I was struck by a three-dimensional work of art, as I approached I realized that it was made with the popsicle sticks used in ice cream, I thought it was great, and made me reflect a little about life and the elements that surround us, the material with which it was made has no value, most of the time it ends up in the trash, but here its value was elevated by the place where it is and to be admired, I did not find the name of who made it, maybe that was the purpose for sure also plays a message in all this, the wood comes from the trees, which are part of the earth, and it is up to us the use we want to give it, take care and admire or burn and waste.
After this short reflection, I went to the gardens and only toured a small part of this university, unfortunately, because it has auditoriums, lecture hall, cultural center, library, sports areas, small restaurants or cafes, infirmary, banks and even its own church with daily mass, since it is a Catholic university. One of the beautiful works is the mural Fragmentation of color by the master Juvenal Ravelo, which also matches the yellow color of the ceramics that cover the building on its upper levels.
Al salir me llamo la atención, una obra de arte tridimensional al acercarme me di cuenta de que fue realizada con las paletas que usan en los helados, me pareció genial, y me hizo reflexionar un poco sobre la vida y los elementos que nos rodean, el material con la que lo hicieron no tiene valor, la mayoría de las veces termina en la basura, pero aquí se elevó su valor por el lugar donde está y por ser admirada, no encontré el nombre de quien la hizo, tal vez ese era el propósito seguro también juega un mensaje en todo esto, la madera viene de los árboles, que son parte de la tierra, y está en nosotros el uso que le queramos dar, cuidar y admirar o quemar y desperdiciar.
Seguida de esta corta reflexión, me fui a los jardines y solo recorrí una mínima parte de esta universidad, lamentablemente, porque posee auditorios, aula magna, centro cultural, biblioteca, áreas deportivas, pequeños restaurantes o cafés, enfermería, bancos e incluso hasta su propia iglesia con misa diaria, ya que es una universidad católica. Una de las obras hermosas es el mural Fragmentación del color del maestro Juvenal Ravelo, que también hace juego con el color amarillo de las cerámicas que cubren el edificio en sus niveles superiores.
I was there that day, I went to one of its corridors to take some funny pictures, at the end I walked through the squares with their concrete tables and seats that are quite there nobody stands still, it is a very nice university that has not been affected by hyperinflation apparently, I left a good impression and the desire to return and tour it all, this university has a lot of history and awards for ecological sustainability, as they made a green roof and for the same has won awards. De carrera porque así estuve ese día, me ubique en unos de sus pasillos para sacarme unas fotos algo cómicas, al final recorrí las plazas con sus mesas de concretos y butacas que son bastante allí nadie se queda parado, es una universidad muy bonita que no se ha visto afectada por la hiperinflación aparentemente, me dejo una buena impresión y las ganas de volver y recorrerla entera, esta universidad tiene mucha historia y premios por sustentabilidad ecológica, ya que realizaron un techo verde y por el mismo ha obtenido premios.
