Greetings friends, lovers of architecture and design, I hope you had a nice Christmas with beautiful moments to remember and I wish that this new year we have renewed health and the universe gives us what we need to be happy.
Last month I accepted an invitation to a get-together that dealt with a topic that has always seemed interesting to me, I did not know anyone, not even the organizer of the event and although it was in the capital of my state, far from where I live, I attended because my main motivation was to know the place where it would be held, the Café Charlotte.
Saludos amigos amantes de la arquitectura y el diseño, espero que hayan pasado una linda Navidad con momentos hermosos para recordar y deseo que este nuevo año tengamos una salud renovada y el universo nos dé aquello que necesitamos para ser felices.
El mes pasado acepté una invitación para una tertulia que trataba de un tema que siempre me ha parecido interesante, no conocía a nadie ni siquiera al organizador del evento y aunque era en la capital de mi estado, retirado del lugar donde vivo asistí porque mi mayor motivación era conocer el lugar donde se realizaría, el café Charlotte.
This café is not a new place, it has been active for many years, but I had never had the opportunity to enter and take a close look at its facilities. I think I was more excited to go to the place than to receive the information about the gathering. Café Charlotte is located on Las Delicias Avenue, one of the main avenues in the city of Maracay. It is an exclusive area and at the entrance it has a very large parking lot, with a parking attendant attentive to the vehicles.
The main entrance seemed nice and cozy, it starts with a path marked in cement with red terracotta, matching pictures and geometric figures, once I opened the glass door I found a mini coffee room there were comfortable sofas with their table and in the center of all these tables is a large table that divides the space surrounded by an iron fence and is decorated with flowers, as for a larger group of people. I'm sure my eyes grew big when I saw the flowers. For a second I thought they were natural, but I was wrong 🥲, I was a little disappointed when I took a good look and noticed they were artificial.
Este café no es un local nuevo, tiene muchos años activos, pero nunca había tenido la oportunidad de entrar y mirar de cerca sus instalaciones. Creo que sentí más emoción de ir al lugar que de recibir la información de la tertulia. Café Charlotte está ubicado en toda la avenida Las delicias, una de las principales de la ciudad Maracay. Es una zona exclusiva y de entrada posee un estacionamiento muy amplio, con un parquero atento de los vehículos.
La entrada principal me pareció linda y acogedora, inicia con un camino marcado en cemento con terracota roja, haciendo juego de cuadros y figuras geométricas, una vez que abrí la puerta de vidrio me encontré con una mini sala de café había sofás cómodos con su mesa y en el centro de todas estas mesas está un mesón grande que divide el espacio rodeado de una reja de hierro y está decorada de flores, como para un grupo de personas más grande. Estoy segura de que mis ojos crecieron cuando vi las flores. Por un segundo pensé que eran naturales, pero me equivoque 🥲, me sentí un poco decepcionado cuando vi bien y noté que eran artificiales.
At the end of this one, the cash register and the candies on display, were the first thing I saw and then one of the waitresses took me to where the group was for the chat. This is in another space within the same cafe, here there were other gray sofas equally comfortable, but I had to sit on a wicker chair that matched the design of this part, this corner was very nice, the wall that adjoins the street is smoked glass and allows you to see the entire avenue, the other wall facing the back is decorated with a beautiful artificial grass with very small flowers and the best thing is that its hexagonal design reminds me of Hive. 😄 There they place the business logo, and to close this space is the wall with pots and plants that seemed natural to me from afar, I did not check.
The bad thing about this space is that the sounds are mixed, there was a lot of sonic pollution, since the place has relaxing ambient music like jazz, but at the same time next to it there was a group of people talking and the sound interfered, in my opinion it was not the space of the cafeteria nor the right one for the meeting. As I spent more time in this space, I was able to observe even the lighting and I liked it very much. Every detail is elegant and modern at the same time, lights with lanterns and bulbs over grilles with a warm light.
Al final de esta, la caja registradora y los dulces en exhibición, fueron lo primero que vi y después una de las meseras me llevó a donde estaba el grupo para la charla. Este es en otro espacio dentro del mismo café, aquí había otros sofás de color gris igual de cómodos, pero me toco sentarme en una silla de mimbre que hacía juego con el diseño de esta parte, este rincón era muy bonito, la pared que colinda con la calle es de vidrio ahumado y permite ver toda la avenida, la otra pared que da al fondo está decorada con una grama artificial hermosa con flores muy pequeñas y lo mejor es que su diseño hexagonal me recuerda a Hive. 😄 Ahí colocan el logo de negocio, y para cerrar este espacio está la pared con materos y plantas que me parecieron naturales de lejos, no lo comprobé.
Lo malo de este espacio es que se mezclan los sonidos, había mucha contaminación sónica, ya que el lugar tiene música de ambiente relajante como el jazz, pero a su vez al lado había un grupo de personas conversando y el sonido interfería, a mi parecer no fue el espacio de la cafetería ni el adecuado para la reunión. Como estuve más tiempo en este espacio, pude observar hasta la iluminación y me gustó mucho. Cada detalle es elegante y moderno a la vez, luces con faroles y bombillos sobre rejas con una luz cálida.
When it was all over, I went around the café. I went to the space next door, which has similar decor in the chairs and tables, but with a large mirror on the wall and the metallic lamps gave me the impression of being at the table of a house or in the dining room of a home. After that there is a larger space throughout the center, here there are on one side sofas and on the other side table and chairs. This space didn't look so nice to me and something caught my attention.
On the ceiling you can see the refrigeration installation uncovered, in a color that far from hiding it makes it noticeable, I'm not sure if it was gold or cream, it looked nice, that industrial style, while taking pictures of this part I met a couple of friends who had gone to lunch and it was a pleasant surprise especially because of how far we were from our homes. After talking with them for a while I went to the bathroom and I didn't like it. I think they should invest in restoring it so that its design matches the surroundings.
Cuando todo terminó, me dediqué a recorrer el café. Fui al espacio del lado, que tiene una decoración similar en las sillas y mesas, pero con un espejo grande en la pared y las lámparas metálicas me dieron la impresión de estar en la mesa de una casa o en el comedor de un hogar. Después de eso hay un espacio más amplio en todo el centro, aquí hay de un lado sofás y de la otra mesa y sillas. Este espacio no me pareció tan bonito y algo llamó mi atención.
En el techo se puede ver la instalación de refrigeración al descubierto, en un color que lejos de ocultarlo lo hace notar, no estoy segura su color si era dorado o crema, se veía bonito, ese estilo industrial, mientras sacaba las fotos de esta parte me encontré a una pareja de amigos que había ido a almorzar y fue una grata sorpresa sobre todo por lo lejos que estábamos de nuestras casas. Después de hablar con ellos, un rato me dirigí al baño y no me gustó. Creo que deberían invertir en restaurarlo para que su diseño haga juego con todo el entorno.
I was missing the last part and the workers got a little nervous when they saw me taking so many pictures, I explained to them and they relaxed, so I continued to the outside patio, I did not know that from the back it had an exit to the other avenue, in this part there is a palm plant in the center, many round tables and large plastic chairs, with large umbrellas to cover from sun or rain and with bulbs to light at night, this part seemed very nice and special for birthday celebrations or parties in general.
Café Charlotte is a place not only for snacks and coffees, here you can eat and they have a variety of dishes, there are many people working so your order will arrive quickly, they have a good service and the whole place is nice, I am happy to have gone to know this place that had me curious for years, the next time I go in I want to eat a different dish than I am used to. When I left I took the last pictures from outside and the parquero, a kind and older man, kept looking at me, I told him that I had to take many pictures to recover the investment of what I consumed inside and we both laughed loudly, it was nice to get a smile out of that man and so I closed that afternoon and went back home, happy.
Me faltaba la última parte y los trabajadores se pusieron un poco nerviosos al verme tomar tantas fotos, les expliqué y se relajaron, así que seguí al patio exterior, no sabía que por la parte de atrás tenía salida hacia la otra avenida, en esta parte hay una planta de palma en el centro, muchas mesas redondas y sillas amplias de plástico, con sombrillas grandes para cubrir de sol o lluvia y con bombillos para alumbrar de noche, esta parte me pareció muy linda y especial para celebraciones de cumpleaños o fiestas en general.
El café Charlotte es un lugar no solo para meriendas y cafés, aquí se puede comer y tienen variedad de platos, hay muchas personas trabajando así que su pedido llegará rápido, tienen un buen servicio y todo el lugar el bonito, estoy feliz de haber ido a conocer este lugar que me tenía con curiosidad desde hace años, la próxima vez que entre quiero comer un plato distinto al que acostumbro. Al salir tomé las últimas fotos desde afuera y el parquero un señor amable y mayor se me quedó viendo, le dije que tenía que sacar muchas fotos para recuperar la inversión de lo que consumí adentro y los dos soltamos una carcajada a todo pulmón, fue lindo sacarle una sonrisa a ese señor y así cerré esa tarde y volví a casa, contenta.
