A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit the cafe - restaurant "Algo Andino" with my dear friend @mosa71. We were in one of those wanderings of plans - projects - business and we ended up head first in this place that caught us both from the first visit.
It is not a luxurious place, nor is it full of design, neither exterior nor interior. It is rather a spacious place surrounded by nature. In short, the place is invaded by the beauty that surrounds it, that is the real charm. Where is it? Well, it is located in one of my favorite parks: at the top of El Calvario Park in El Silencio, Caracas, Venezuela.
Located at the top of the park's library, it is a spacious place that in the past was used as a meeting place for yogis, dancers and any other outdoor activity. This place has a tiny room with concrete walls, a sanctuary and wooden doors. It consists of a very small kitchen area as far as I could see, the office area that you can see in the photos and two bathrooms, so small and uncomfortable that I wasted no time in taking a picture of them.
However, what I really love is the view. From there I can see the back of the chapel of Lourdes, and a large area of the park. It is delightful to sit there and chat. @mosa71 and I did not miss the opportunity and ordered a tea. By the way the message on the tea label told me: "take it easy on the gray hair" hahaha I heeded the message so much that I haven't dyed my hair and right now it shows the silvery traces of age.
The dining area is completely open, and the walls are non-existent, just nature all around. The floor is polished concrete with a ceiling tile and some columns that obviously support the ceiling.
The tables are made of wood and this is the peculiarity and attraction of this café. The tables are painted, each one with an original design and the wooden folding chairs are also colorful. It is undeniable to say that one immediately feels invaded by the joy and color of the place.
In one corner of the place there is a sofa and in front of it is the TV, which invites you to sit there and watch your favorite baseball game or any other program that is on, although I have noticed that it is always sports that is being broadcasted on that TV. Either I join the sports or I ask to change the channel!
In conversations with the manager of the venue I learned that they rent the place out for events like weddings, birthdays, parties, etc. that's why they have a space for music and presentation. I see it as a rudimentary stage made of aluminum profiles. There I have seen them set up the DJ or put up welcome banners.
One thing I liked about the place is that there is no excessive noise. There is no loud music. Which invites to that conversation in peace and harmony without thunderous noises.
One of these days I will take a book and spend an afternoon on that sofa, I think its melodious invitation reaches my ears "come sit here and enjoy the afternoon". I'll think about it, maybe it will be a great opportunity to see how this place moves on a busy day, a Saturday maybe.

Hace unas semanas tuve la oportunidad de visitar el café – restaurante “Algo Andino” junto con mi querida amiga @mosa71. Estábamos en unas de esas andanzas de planes – proyectos – negocio y terminamos de cabeza en este lugar que a las dos nos atrapó desde la primera visita.
No es un lugar lujoso, ni tampoco abunda el diseño, ni exterior, ni interior. Es más bien un lugar espacioso rodeado de naturaleza. En pocas palabras, el lugar se deja invadir por la belleza que tiene alrededor, ese es el verdadero encanto. ¿Qué dónde queda? pues bien, está ubicado en uno de mis parques favoritos: en la cima del parque El Calvario en el Silencio, Caracas, Venezuela.
Ubicado en la parte superior de la biblioteca del parque, se trata un lugar espacioso que en un pasado fue utilizado como centro de reuniones para yoguis, bailarines y cualquier otra actividad al aire libre. Este lugar tiene un minúsculo local de paredes de concreto, santamaria y puertas de madera. Consta de un área de cocina muy reducida por lo que pude llegar a ver, el área de despacho que observas en las fotos y dos baños, tan pequeños e incomodos que no perdí tiempo en tomarles una fotografía.
Sin embargo, lo que enamora realmente es la vista. Desde allí puedo observar la parte trasera de la capilla de Lourdes, y un amplio espacio del parque. Es delicioso sentarse allí a conversar. @mosa71 y yo no perdimos la oportunidad y pedimos un té. Por cierto el mensaje de la etiqueta del té me decía: “las canas tómatelas con calma” jajaja le he hecho tanto caso al mensaje que no he teñido mi cabello y en este momento muestra los rastros plateados de la edad.
El área de comensales es totalmente abierta, y las paredes no existen, simplemente naturaleza alrededor. El piso es de cemento pulido con placa techo y algunas columnas que obvio sostienen el techo.
Las mesas son de madera y aquí esta lo peculiar y atractivo de este café. Sus mesas están pintadas, cada una con un diseño original y sus sillas de madera plegables también son coloridas. Es innegable decir que uno inmediatamente se siente invadido por la alegría y color del lugar.
En una esquina del local hay un sofá y frente a él está el televisor, que invita a sentarse allí a ver el partido de béisbol favorito o cualquier otro programa que estén pasando, aunque he notado que siempre son deportes lo que transmite ese televisor. O me uno a los deportes o pido que me cambien de canal!
En conversaciones con el encargado del local me enteré que el lugar lo alquilan para eventos como bodas, cumpleaños, fiestas, etc. es por ello que tienen un espacio para la música y presentación. Lo veo como una rudimentaria tarima de perfiles de aluminio. Allí he visto que colocan al DJ o colocan pendones de bienvenida.
Algo que me gustó del lugar es que no hay ruido excesivo. No hay música a todo volumen. Lo que invita a esa conversación en paz y armonía sin estruendosos ruidos.
Un día de estos tomaré un libro y pasaré una tarde en ese sofá, creo que su invitación melodiosa llega a mis oídos “ven siéntate aquí y disfruta de la tarde”. Lo pensaré, quizá sea una gran oportunidad de ver como se mueve este lugar en un día concurrido, un sábado tal vez.
