hello Architecture+Design Lovers, How are you today? I hope we are all always healthy so that we can be creative and design beautiful things that can be useful for this life. We know that an ordinary place can become an extraordinary place if it has "unique" architecture and design. This seems like a fitting description of a place I've just visited.
a few days ago, my family and I traveled to Berastagi. Berastagi is one of the tourist destinations in the province of North Sumatra, Indonesia, because in Berastagi there are many waterfalls, extraordinary views, hot springs and other tourist destinations. Berastagi is also a fruit and flower-producing area, because Berastagi, which has a cold climate, is located in the highlands of karo land.
The journey to Berastagi from Medan City usually takes 2 hours, but because of the large number of vehicles going in and out of Berastagi, the heavy traffic flow creates long traffic jams for hours. To avoid this traffic jam, we took an alternative route through the village of rumah galoh- telagah village which covered almost twice the distance from the usual route, but through the alternative road, we were not stuck in traffic.
on the way we stopped at a prayer room to rest, the musholah is a small mosque. When I entered the prayer room area, I was immediately amazed by the "unique" architecture and design of the prayer room which was different from other mosques I had visited. Musholla Al-Furqon located on the Berastagi - binjai causeway, I saw many tourists who deliberately stopped at the Al-Furqon prayer room because they were attracted by the unique design of the building.
when we look at the design of the outer building that looks unique with a beautifully arranged stone foundation and a prayer room made of forest wood.
The building pole has a unique design because it is made of areca nut wood.
I saw that in front of the prayer room there were many betel nut trees, maybe that's why the building poles were made of betel nut.
The architecture and design of the prayer room made me more amazed.
the condition in the prayer room is very clean and comfortable, everything looks neat.
Inside the prayer room there are many calligraphy writings made of wood, the design is simple but looks elegant.
a pulpit made of pieces of wood that has a simple design but looks luxurious.
and what really amazed me was the design of the lights that adorn the musholla, a tree trunk branch that is very beautifully designed with lots of decorative lights, it looks like this is an amazing natural decorative lamp.
on the terrace of the prayer room which is located next to the prayer room there is a long chair designed for visitors to sit while enjoying the natural scenery around the prayer room.
Next I will order some dishes from the cafe next to the prayer room, this cafe is just a "small food stall" where tourists will rest for Berastagi. The entire pillar of the building is made of forest wood and areca nut.
The walls are also made of wood which is designed very beautifully.
visitor table and chairs made of wood.
In this food stall there is also a boat to attract the attention of customers.
After I was satisfied taking some photos, I headed to the back of the prayer room, there were several tens of durian trees that were about two years old.
at the back of the prayer room there is also a prayer house guard, this house also has an amazing architecture.
The design of this house has a Javanese style building architecture called joglo house.
The hallmark of the joglo house is located on the pillars of the building consisting of 4 main pillars made of teak wood.
in the joglo house there are beautifully designed wood carvings. one of the characteristics of the joglo house is also found in the tile made of soil.
Judging from the shape of the designs found on the doors and walls, it looks like this is a very famous Jepara carving design.
its time for selfie🥰🥰😅
This area is a place for tourists to stop, because many foreign tourists need a place to pray, so the land owner built this prayer room (musholla)
it turns out that unique architecture and designs don't have to come from expensive materials, by utilizing the natural environment, we can also design something amazing, all amazing things come from high creativity and a relentless willingness to continue to learn throughout life.
Thank you for taking the time to read my writing. Have you ever encountered a unique architecture and design in a remote place?
All photos I took with the Realme GT master Limited edition 5G phone camera.
Best Regards
