Yesterday, I’m still thinking about the shadows to present. There was no gas, so I went outside to cook with firewood.
As I waited by the fire, something beautiful happened. My hands—my aunt's hands too—began to form shapes in the sunlight. Shadows danced on the wall. What started as the wings of an eagle shifted. Then suddenly, it looked like a monster.
Everyone saw something different.
One said it looked like the mouth of an rat.
Another thought it was a chicken’s beak.
Someone else saw a lizard’s jaw.
And one person said, “That looks like a dinosaur trying to swallow something!”
It made me think:
We don’t always need special moments.
Sometimes, we create them—with our hands, our shadows, our imagination.
With the simplest things: sunlight, fire, and a memory of childhood.
