Entry for the Shadow Contest SMASh Round 374 – I Love Trees

There’s something ancient in the way shadows fall through a winter forest. I stood there, still and silent, as the sun dropped behind the trees, casting long fingers of darkness across the snowy ground. The light barely held on, slipping between branches like whispered memories.

I love trees. Their silhouettes speak in a language older than words. In this moment, I wasn’t just taking a picture. I was listening to the forest breathe.
