Because I love crows like family, it had to be crows.
A little background: I live in a studio apartment with no balcony or yard. During the Great Pandemic Pause I made friends with the neighborhood crows. Being yardless, I have been putting food and water on top of my car.
I know these crows very well. The crow in this feature photo is Junior, little brother to the infamous Bo. (I post about Bo all the time. He has his own weekly blog.) Right now Junior is helping his mom and dad take care of his little siblings, who have just recently hatched.
I wasn't sure how the reflection of a crow on the roof of an orange car would turn out when I took these pictures, but I'm super stoked with the Monet-like results.
Here's the same shot upside-down.
In this next shot, that's Junior's dad, Lod, in the background. I like how both the crows and the reflection came out pretty clear here. I wish I had gotten a little more of that swirl in the foreground like I did in the previous shot, but the colors are still nice.
This shot captured more of that swirl, and I thought it was neat how the reflection of the two crows looks kind of like one crow flying.
And, finally, Junior's britches. His crow heels are reflecting the orange of the car, and that little droplet of water flying off his face is a rainbow bubble reflecting all the ambient lights and colors.
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my entry to the Reflection Hunters Contest. This is my first time entering AND posting in this community, and I'm really excited to have this opportunity to push myself to see things in new ways.
