The Palms.
That tree that stands elegantly reaching for the blue sky.
A symbol of righteousness, strength, and tranquility.
But at the same time, it casts shadows on the ground.
Shadows that tell another part of its story.
There, they lie sprawled out on the ground.
Between the grass and the earth, the palm leaves seem to rest.
Without fighting against the winds.
Without feeling the heat of a long day.
Without feeling the cold of the night.
Without striving to grow.
They simply exist, gently and silently.
One palm tree stands tall, gazing at the sky every day.
Always striving to reach higher.
Drawing closer to the sun and moon each day.
While the other spreads out on the ground and rests on the earth.
Quietly, every day.
Both are inseparable companions.
Both grow together every day.
The palm tree and its somber echo.
Both are true.
Along the path of life.
As long as a bright sun shines on us every day.
Those two versions of the world will always accompany us.
The one we see and the one we project.
The tangible and the intangible.
Always being true.
