Hi everyone. Welcome to SMASh 191 hosted by @melinda010100. SMASh stands for Show Me A Shadow and that's what this contest is about. If you still don't know about this, check on the link here and join in the fun.
I chanced upon my daughter doing some sketch work last night. She always does this before she calls it a night. Sort of a ritual. Perhaps it takes away the stress of the day, relaxing her and prepping her for a good night's sleep. I am so used to seeing her do this. But last night, on an impulse, I went up closer to look at what she was sketching. And guess what I noticed first? It was how her hand and pencil were casting shadows on the art paper.
I had to ask her to freeze so I can take a photo of the shadow on the slowly developing art work which, as it turns out, is the Pietà. The Pietà is a Renaissance sculpture by the famous artist Michelangelo. It is now found in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City.
Here are a couple of photos of the artist's hand and pencil shadow on the still unfinished sketchwork.
After some serious deliberations with myself I have decided the last photo as my entry to SMASh 191. I would have loved to choose either the first or even the second but these photos draw more focus on the artwork rather than the shadow. Thus my choice of the third picture.
And that's it for this one. Thank you for visiting. Thanks too to The Shadow Hunters Community, @galenkp, @good-karma, @ecency.com, @pixresteemer, @taskmanager and #archon. And finally to our wonderful and ever hardworking judge @annephilbrick whose job it seems to be getting harder and harder every week. Keep safe and healthy everyone. A great week ahead to you all!
