Hello, dear friends. Last autumn I was visiting my son in the city of Kaliningrad. There are many rivers, lakes and ponds in the city and region, so this is an ideal place for photographing reflections))
Today I will tell you about the Don Tower.
The tower is located on the shore of Lake Verhnee in the city of Kaliningrad. It received its name in honor of the Prussian Field Marshal Friedrich Karl Don.
The tower was built of specially hardened red brick in 1852 and was part of the second defensive rampart of Konigsberg. The Don Tower could withstand a long siege and conduct a circular defense. But at the beginning of the twentieth century, the tower lost its military significance, as Konigsberg grew very much, and it turned out to be in the center of the city.
The Don Tower is located in a very picturesque place on the shore of Lake Superior. Currently, the Amber Museum is located in the tower and there are many tourists around it.
