This is my entry for this week's Reflection Challenge.

This is a guard house that you will come across yellow trail. An access road leads to the embassy house. I think there was only one time at least two where we saw a guard posted there but the rest of our walks to the trail, that guard house was empty. It was recently refurbished. I guess somebody important came to stay at the embassy house that time. It was newly painted and some of the glass have been replaced. The last time I saw this the windows were broken. This guardhouse has windows on all sides even the door has a little window. I didn't plan on taking photos of it but seeing the reflections on those windows gave me the idea to take some for me to use here in this challenge. You can see my reflection in one of those. I like that they retained the colors white and green. It blends well to its surroundings.
Even though it looks new, it still is empty. Abandoned. To be used again when the need arises.
Sometimes our outward appearance does not reflect what we really are inside. We wear a mask, different masks for different people. We may project a happy demeanor but in reality we are hollow and empty inside.
I can relate to this guardhouse. Some perceive me as good-mannered. I have a positive outlook. They find me friendly and amenable. However, I don't feel like that. I feel empty like this guardhouse. Still, we have to suck it in and just deal with life the best we can. Others have their own worries and problems to deal with. I don't want to be a burden to others by unloading insignificant stuff. Fake it and make it.
I'm still available when needed but not that available. I am selective now more than ever.
Get up. Show up. Smile. Be presentable. One day at a time.
Be kind always. Go and make good and better choices.
