No temo a la muerte oscura,
pues en su umbral ya vivo.
Con energía y bravura,
soy del cáncer un cautivo.
No es la cura lo que apura,
es vivir con humildad.
La presión se hará más dura,
pero no me doblegará.
No me asusta la locura
de un cuerpo que enfermo está.
Mi orgullo es mi armadura,
mi risa, mi libertad.
Si la muerte se apresura,
no me hayará con soledad,
pues en mi mente hay cordura,
paz y claridad.
Pero si caigo en la espesura,
no será con ansiedad.
Tengo en mi alma una dulzura
que no teme a la oscuridad.
Y si estando en el cielo,
puedo en espíritu volver,
a mis hijos daré consuelo,
y sus miedos romperé.
I do not fear the dark death,

In my soul, there is a sweetness
that does not fear the darkness.And if, being in heaven,
I can return in spirit,
I will give comfort to my children,
and I will break their fears.
