I’m eager to get back into some writing here, life throws curveballs at you and I’ve had more than one recently, the latest is treatment on my face that is proving to be painful and looks messy. I’ve had this area of dry skin on my temple for a couple of years and the doctors weren’t overly concerned about it until I caught up with dermatology last month. I’ve been given a cream to treat it and when they say it’s going to get worse before it gets better, they weren’t kidding.
Anyway, let's move on....
Since I had been setting aside some money, I decided to buy some more synth stuff! Yay!
Strega/0-CTRL
Let me introduce you to the Strega by Make Noise and its companion product, the 0-CTRL which is a beautifully ironic name, since they pronounce it as “no control” and its got tonnes of control lol!!
The Strega and 0-Ctrl are patched together here so that we can sequence and explore patterns. This is dificult to demonstrate via photos and text, a video will do it more justice but that’s something to setup another day.
My chaotic desk, it badly needs a tidy and some shelving above it to make this a better setup. It’s not bad though. My Norns Shield music computer I’ve mentioned in the past is in use here too. However the recording worked well to startnwith and then lost it’s way. I’ll edit it and share it some other time.
Recently I’ve been using Ableton again and for each patch I’ve set up with these synths have recorded into a clip and have been exploring different reverb effects. A great hybrid system.
The Kindle Scribe has come in handy for making notes as much as it has for reading. It’s always on my desk and has become my bullet journal.
Anyway, hope you are all well, sorry I've not been around, been a tough month or so but time to get life back on course. I'm going to do some Castgarden videos, I've got one to upload as it happens, on these synths and some of the mad sounds you can create with them. So more material for the Sound Library too.
Going away for two weeks this Saturday, can't blimming wait!!!
