I hope you're all feeling great. As always, it's a pleasure to stop by to talk about something that simply unites us: books. Today I want to share with you a topic that has me daydreaming, and that is special editions.
Si soy completamente honesta, si tuviera el dinero suficiente, compraría todas las ediciones especiales posibles sin pensarlo dos veces, aunque sé que muchas son bastante costosas. Pero, ¿qué lector o lectora no ha suspirado alguna vez frente a una edición de lujo con detalles dorados, ilustraciones interiores, bordes pintados o cubiertas que parecen obras de arte?
If I am completely honest, if I had enough money, I would buy every possible special edition without thinking twice, even though I know that many are quite expensive. But what reader hasn't sighed at some point in front of a deluxe edition with gilded details, interior illustrations, painted edges or covers that look like works of art?
En este post, quiero enfocarme en algunas ediciones especiales en español, aunque debo admitir (con algo de celos literarios) que las ediciones en inglés suelen ser mucho más llamativas y completas. Aun así, aquí van algunas de las que más me han enamorado:
In this post, I want to focus on some special editions in Spanish, although I must admit (with some literary jealousy) that the English editions are usually much more striking and complete. Even so, here are some of the ones I have fallen in love with the most:

SourceConfieso algo: este libro no estaba en mi lista de prioridades para leer. A primera vista, no me llamaba tanto la atención... Peeero, sigo a la ilustradora desde hace bastante tiempo y su trabajo me parece sencillamente mágico. Cuando vi esta edición especial de Boulevard, ilustrada como si fuera un manga, no pude evitar sentir un flechazo.
I confess something: this book was not on my list of priorities to read. At first glance, it didn't hold my attention that much.... But, I've been following the illustrator for quite some time now and I find her work simply magical. When I saw this special edition of Boulevard, illustrated as if it were a manga, I couldn't help but feel a crush.
Tiene un aire melancólico, artístico y romántico que transforma completamente la experiencia. Me recuerda a esos libros que uno compra por la belleza de sus páginas, incluso si no conoce del todo la historia. Esta edición tiene ese “algo” que me hizo interesarme por el libro, aunque antes no lo tenía en el radar.
It has a melancholic, artistic and romantic air that completely transforms the experience. It reminds me of those books that you buy for the beauty of their pages, even if you don't fully know the story. **This edition has that "something" that got me interested in the book, even though I didn't have it on my radar before.
🎪 Caraval – Stephanie Garber (Edición especial en español)(Special edition in Spanish)

I'm currently reading Caraval, so seeing a special edition as beautiful as this was love at first sight. If I could, I would definitely have it in my hands by now.
La estética de la portada, los tonos rojos escarlata, la fuente elegante y ese diseño que transmite un halo de misterio y magia, encajan a la perfección con la atmósfera del libro. Es de esas ediciones que, aunque ya tengas el libro en versión normal, querrías tener solo por el placer de admirarla. Creo que capta muy bien la esencia enigmática de la historia y sería una joya en cualquier estantería.
The aesthetics of the cover, the scarlet red tones, the elegant font and that design that transmits a halo of mystery and magic, fit perfectly with the atmosphere of the book. It is one of those editions that, even if you already have the book in the normal version, you would want to have just for the pleasure of admiring it. I think it captures the enigmatic essence of the story very well and would be a gem on any bookshelf.
🌸 Pétalos de papel – Iria G. Parente & Selene M. Pascual (Edición especial)
SourceSi hay algo que tienen estas autoras es dedicación y amor por lo que escriben, y se nota no solo en sus historias, sino también en las ediciones que crean junto a sus editoriales.
If there is one thing these authors have, it is dedication and love for what they write, and it shows not only in their stories, but also in the editions they create together with their publishers.
Esta edición especial de Pétalos de papel me parece un sueño. La portada en tonos pastel, los detalles dorados y esas páginas rosas con pétalos impresos son simplemente una obra de arte. Es la clase de libro que no solo lees, sino que abrazas, admiras y presumes. Me encanta cuando se nota que detrás de una edición hay cuidado, mimo y respeto por la historia y sus lectores. Definitivamente sería una de mis prioridades si tuviera el dinero.
This special edition of Paper Petals looks like a dream to me. The pastel cover, the gold details and those pink pages with printed petals are simply a work of art. It's the kind of book you don't just read, but embrace, admire and show off. I love it when you can tell that behind an edition there is care, pampering and respect for the story and its readers. **It would definitely be one of my priorities if I had the money.
Las ediciones especiales no son solo libros más caros o bonitos. Son una forma de arte, una celebración visual del contenido que amamos. Como lectora, me emociona saber que hay editoriales que aún apuestan por crear experiencias más allá de la lectura: libros que tocas, que hueles, que te hacen sentir parte de su mundo solo con verlos.
Special editions are not just more expensive or beautiful books. They are an art form, a visual celebration of the content we love. As a reader, I am thrilled to know that there are publishers who are still committed to creating experiences beyond reading: books that you touch, that you smell, that make you feel part of their world just by looking at them.
